We are excited to welcome Ms. Rania Osman, Director of the Information Institutions and Professional Skills Department at Bibliotheca Alexandrina, as a Main Organizer at FBA26 Career Arena ✨
With over 20 years of experience in library and information science, Ms. Osman is a leading expert in cataloguing, classification, collection development, and integrated library systems. She also holds prominent international roles within IFLA, ALA, CILIP, and other global professional associations. 🌍📚
She has led major international initiatives and translation projects, including Arabic versions of DDC, MARC 21, and the RDA Toolkit, and serves in key leadership positions such as Chair of the VIAF Council and member of the IFLA Cataloguing Committee.

تتمتع الأستاذة رانيا عثمان بخبرة تزيد عن 20 عامًا في مجال علم المكتبات والمعلومات، وهي خبيرة رائدة في الفهرسة والتصنيف وتنمية المقتنيات وأنظمة المكتبات المتكاملة. كما أنها عضو فاعل في عدد من الجمعيات المهنية الدولية مثل IFLA وALA وCILIP وAFLI. 🌍📚
تشغل الأستاذة رانيا عثمان مناصب قيادية دولية بارزة، من بينها رئاسة مجلس VIAF، وعضوية لجنة الفهرسة في IFLA، ورئاسة فريق الترجمة العربية لمعيار RDA، بالإضافة إلى تمثيل إفريقيا في مجلس RDA. كما قادت العديد من مشروعات الترجمة المهمة، بما في ذلك النسخة العربية من DDC وMARC 21 وRDA Toolkit.

We are honored to welcome Prof. Thierry Verdal, Director of Université Senghor in Alexandria, as the Main Organizer of FBA26 Career Arena ✨
Since 2017, Prof. Verdal has served as Director of Université Senghor, while being temporarily assigned from the École des Mines de Nancy, University of Lorraine, where he previously taught risk and crisis management, statistics, mathematics, and numerical modeling. His research focuses on risk assessment related to soil and subsoil, as well as crisis simulation and management using the iCrisis platform within the GeoRessources Laboratory (CNRS, University of Lorraine). 🌍📊
We are proud to have his leadership guiding this impactful event.
