1️⃣ of the most well-rounded applicants…𝗦𝘆𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗩𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗹!
This year, Molly’s Miracles was especially honored to present a second scholarship to Sydney at Chaparral High School, recognizing the legacy of Mrs. Karen Tarbell. In a beautiful act of generosity, the Tarbell family selected Molly’s Miracles as the beneficiary for her memorial gifts following her passing. That generosity now has a name and a face—and Sydney Vogel is a perfect reflection of the legacy it was meant to honor.
Sydney lives her life guided by the motto inspired by her late father: 𝘗𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦. During her high school years, Sydney served as a peer counselor, a member of the Advisory Board member, a student ambassador, a 𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩 member 💪🏼 who advocated for mental health awareness and encouraged positive coping strategies via supportive peer connections, and a varsity volleyball player 🏐 from freshman through senior year!
In addition, she still found time and priority for actively volunteering in her community, and was even employed. Sydney worked with a local recreation center, assisting with youth camps and athletics and also as a caregiver with a company providing in-home care for elderly individuals, enabling them to stay within their homes.
Molly’s story inspires Sydney “to live with kindness, intention, and purpose.” She is committed to carrying Molly‘s light forward by “continuing to serve others and mak[ing] a positive difference every day.” 💗
Like both Molly and Mrs. Tarbell, Sydney knows that even the seemingly smallest of actions can leave a lasting impact on the beneficiaries of their kindness. She perfectly embodies 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦, and we are eager to see her continue to live out a life of purpose and a family legacy centered on helping others…and inspiring her peers in the process 🤝🏼
