📣 Introducing the ISFNR Emerging Folklorists (EF) Working Group!

We're excited to announce our newest working group, formally launched at the ISFNR Interim Conference 2026 in Reykjavik. The EF seeks to encourage collaboration, exchange of ideas, and professional development among emerging folklorists from around the world through various initiatives. The group is open to researchers at the early stages of their academic career, including MA students, PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, and independent scholars in folklore and related fields.

Huge thanks to all the speakers, convenors, and participants who joined us in Reykjavík or online for the ISFNR Interim Conference 2026 two weeks ago. Your ideas, engagement, and enthusiasm sparked new conversations, collaborations, and initiatives around nature(s) in narrative.

Special thanks go to our local organisers, Kristinn Schram, Rósa Þorsteinsdóttir, and Dagrún Ósk Jónsdóttir, who have worked tirelessly over the past two years to make this gathering of nearly 500 researchers—on-site and online—such a welcoming, well-organised, and memorable experience for us.

With ISFNR 2026 now behind us, we look forward to meeting you in Aberdeen in two years for the next Congress. In the meantime, stay connected with ISFNR and take part in its many ongoing activities.
