On the final day of the Valga–Valka meeting, the teams presented their international event concepts to a jury composed of both local and Latvian representatives. The jury also included a representative from Interreg as well as a representative of our Extended programme. At the end of the day, a reflection session was held and a joint summary of the meeting was conducted.

The three-day hackathon brings together participants from the Tartu 2024 Extended and the Liepāja 2027 Youth Programme to create genuinely cross-border cultural events. The mission takes place symbolically in the twin town of Valga–Valka.

This year, the Extended programme is organised in cooperation with Latvia. Through the Interreg Estonia–Latvia Youth Connect project, young people gain practical experience in leading international teams and developing cross-border cultural formats.

During the second day of the Valga-Valka meeting, participants continued developing their international ideas and practiced pitching for the following day. The goal was to refine their cross-border concepts and find suitable collaboration partners. Throughout the day, several developmental workshops were held, and multiple inspiring speakers took the stage.

The three-day hackathon brings together participants from the Tartu 2024 Extended programme and the Liepāja 2027 youth programme to create truly cross-border cultural events. The mission symbolically takes place in the twin town of Valga-Valka.

Ideas That Cross Borders: The “Youth Connect” Joint Valga–Valka Meeting

How can one idea take place in both Estonia and Latvia? How do you get an international team to work together? These are exactly the questions young people began exploring on the first day.

Vahepeal on toimunud ka 5. lennu neljas missioon. Kohtumisel oli fookuses finants ja rahastuse leidmine. Noortele näidati erinevaid rahastuse allikaid ning tehti kindlaks Google sheetsi põhitõed. Noored omandasid ka aelgteadmised eelarvestamisest

Oleme väga uhked oma Tartu 2024 noorteprogrammi Extendedi üle, sest Extendedi juht ja noorteprogrammi liikmed ja nende korraldatud noorte sündmus on nomineeritud Tartu linna noortevaldkonna aunimetuste konkursil koguni neljas kategoorias.

Tartu linna noortevaldkonna aasta aunimetus ja sellega kaasnev preemia on tunnustus Tartus tegutsevatele isikutele ja organisatsioonidele, kes on aasta jooksul silmapaistvalt tegutsenud noortevaldkonnas või saavutanud märkimisväärseid tulemusi Tartu linna kujundamisel noortesõbralikumaks. Laureaadid selguvad 12. veebruaril 2026.

We are very proud of our Tartu 2024 youth program Extended, because the head of Extended and the members of the youth program and the youth event they organized have been nominated in four categories in the Tartu City Youth Awards competition

The honorary title of the Tartu City Youth Sector of the Year and the accompanying award are recognition for individuals and organizations operating in Tartu who have performed outstandingly in the youth sector during the year or achieved significant results in making the city of Tartu more youth-friendly. Winners will be announced February 12th 2026.

Möödunud nädalal kogunes Tartu linna noorte valdkonna 2025. aasta aunimetuste andmise komisjon, kes valis ligi poolesaja ettepaneku seast välja valdkonda märkimisväärselt panustanud ja silmapaistvamad tegijad, sündmused ja teod.

Hetkeid eelmisest aastast. Novembris toimus 5. lennu esimene kohtumine ning lennul osalejad said esimest korda tuttavaks, omandasid esimesed teadmised kultuurikorraldusest ning said ka teada, milliseid üritusi on varem Extendedis korraldatud.
