Goethe-Institut Estland

Goethe-Institut Estland Meie kultuuri- ja haridusprogrammid toetavad kultuuridevahelist dialoogi. Goethe Instituut on üle maailma tegutsev Saksa Liitvabariigi kultuuriinstituut.

[SOOVITUS] Vestlus „Germany at a Turning Point“ | 13.10.2026 - 18:00 | REaD raamatupood

This fall, in three state elections, the political balance in Germany has eroded. The growing discontent over the political and economic situation shifted the balance towards populism. The country's stability is under considerable pressure. What are the factors that contributed to this shift? And what are the perspectives for the future?

Three German academics from Tallinn University will discuss the social, political, and cultural dimensions of contemporary developments in Germany. The discussion will be moderated by Halliki Kreinin (School of Governance, Law and Society, TLU).

Join us for this engaging panel discussion.

🎓 Second workshop reveal for InnoCulture 2026!

Contemporary Art as a Tool for Placemaking
with Liene Jakobsone, Valmiera Municipality, Latvia

Can art shape a place even before a building exists?

🏙️ This workshop takes KURTUVE, an emerging contemporary art space in Valmiera, Latvia, as its starting point to explore how cultural institutions, communities and cities can grow together through artistic interventions, programming, policy, partnerships and community engagement.

Participants will look at their own cities as curatorial material and discover placemaking as an ongoing, shared process.

Liene Jakobsone is a cultural policymaker and curator who heads the Culture Department of Valmiera Municipality and leads the development of KURTUVE. She is also a jury member for the New European Bauhaus Prizes 2026.

📍 2 more workshops coming soon — stay tuned!

🎓 Introducing the first of four workshops at Inno Culture2026!

Developing a Monitoring Framework for the Economic Health of Creative Sectors
with Rasmus Kask, Estonian Ministry of Culture

How do you build a data-driven system to track the health of a creative sector?

This hands-on workshop walks you through the whole process, defining what to measure, sourcing data, choosing the right metrics, and turning it into clear conclusions.

Designed for public sector policymakers and creative sector organisations, the session mixes group work with practical activities and wraps up with a case study on Estonia's music sector. 🎶

📍 Three more workshops revealed soon — stay tuned!

Eelmisel nädalavahetusel toimus Eesti Tarbekunsti- ja Disainimuuseumis näituse „Kogu maailm on Bauhaus” raames Helga Isageri töötuba „Bauhausi puudutus”.

🧶 Osalejad said uurida Helga loodud Bauhausi naistest inspireeritud kollektsiooni disainilahendusi ning seejärel ise proovitükke kududa.

Suur aitäh kõigile osalejatele ja Helgale! 💫

Näituse publikuprogrammi üritusi on tulemas aga veel! Juba täna õhtul kell 18:00 saab muuseumisse tulla kuulama Florentine Nadolni loengut teemal „Igapäevaelu kujundamine! Bauhausi modernism Ida-Saksamaal”.

Last weekend, the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design hosted Helga Isager’s workshop “A Bauhaus Touch” as part of the exhibition “The Whole World a Bauhaus.”

🧶 Participants had the opportunity to explore designs from Helga’s collection, inspired by the women of the Bauhaus, and then try their hand at knitting their own sample pieces.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and to Helga! 💫

There are more events coming up as part of the exhibition’s public programme! Already this evening at 6 PM, you can join us at the museum for Florentine Nadolni’s lecture “Designing Everyday Life! Bauhaus Modernism in East Germany.”

Saksa laul "Die Gedanken sind frei" (A. H. Hoffmann v. Fallersleben ja E.H. L. Richter) kõlas I.N.T.A segakoori esituses dirigent Inta Roosti juhatusel.
