🗺️ With every update, we further improve our maps to support learning, research, professional work, and the exploration of history and geography.
⏳ As part of this ongoing effort, we are steadily expanding our historical map coverage and introducing new data and features across different time periods.
Our recent results include the following:
📍 Maps of regions covering the years 1000–1300 have already been released and are live in production.
📍 Maps of regions for 1300–1700 have been completed and are currently being uploaded to the website. Their release is scheduled for the coming days.
Currently, we are working on several improvements for the next map update:
🔹 New map development: We are building maps for the period 1700–2000, with the planned release set for next week.
🔹 Additional city type — capitals. We are currently gathering historical data to add not only towns but also the capital cities of major states from 2000 BCE onward.
🔹 Map quality improvements. We are also improving overall map quality by reviewing, updating, and expanding our database of major towns and cities to ensure broader coverage and greater historical accuracy.
As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions. Stay tuned for more updates and new releases! https://map.historica.org/
