Sweden is standing up for consumers — and for common sense. 🇸🇪
As EU negotiations on the To***co Taxation Directive resume, Sweden's finance minister has publicly vowed to block Brussels from raising taxes on ni****ne pouches. The message? Other countries don't get to decide Sweden's ni****ne policy.
Tax a less harmful product like a cigarette and you remove the reason to switch. Tax it high enough and you hand the market to criminals.
The rest of Europe should be taking notes.

The EU Parliament just put it in writing: Sweden won. 🇸🇪

Sweden is the first EU member state to drop below 5% smoking — 15 years ahead of the bloc's 2040 target. The EU average? Still at 24%.
How did Sweden get there? Less harmful alternatives, harm reduction, switching.
Now the Commission needs to stop fighting the very tools that made it happen.
