We recently had the opportunity to visit Wise, where our members gained first-hand insight into legal compliance and privacy within a rapidly evolving fintech environment.

During the visit, Wise’s experts shared practical perspectives on how compliance and privacy frameworks function in real-world business contexts. They highlighted the complexity of maintaining trust and transparency in global financial services, as well as the responsibilities that come with it.

A big thank you to the Wise team for the warm welcome and for sharing your expertise so openly with us!

⚖️ Women have been shaping Estonia’s legal system for more than a century. On the International Day of Women Judges, we recognise the vital role women play in courts.

🎓 Estonia’s legal history is rich with inspiring pioneers. Ilse Zimmermann, the first female law graduate in 1922, and Margot Viirmann-Kanemägi, among the first women admitted to the Bar in 1924, helped open the legal profession to women. In 1936, Lyubov Hütsi became Estonia’s first female judicial official.

🖋️ Women have also played an important role in Estonia’s highest courts since the restoration of independence. In 1993, Lea Kivi and Triinu Vernik became the first female judges of the Supreme Court.

💡 Their work continues to inspire new generations of women in law, both in Estonia and around the world.
