On 4–6 March, a delegation from the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine visited Estonia as part of the project “Development of Risk Profiling Software to Enhance Border Control in Ukraine.”
During the visit, working meetings were held with representatives of the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board, and the delegation visited the Narva road border crossing point and the Narva border guard station. The delegation was introduced to Estonia’s border control organisation and risk analysis practices, supporting the continued development of the Ukrainian border guard system and its gradual alignment with European Union standards.
The delegation also participated in the conference Borderless Border Management 2026 held in Narva on 5–6 March, which focused on modern border management solutions, including smart border systems, the use of artificial intelligence, and the role of emerging technologies in strengthening border security.
According to the Ukrainian delegation, the visit provided valuable insights into Estonia’s practical experience and offered useful ideas that can support the further development of border control and risk management practices in Ukraine.
The project is co-funded by the Estonian Centre for International Development.
