On Tuesday we organised the next in the series of workshop events, dedicated to bringing together all market participants in the digital assets space. Hosted at CoinsPaid offices in Tallinn, the event was sold out and gathered professionals from the digital assets space as well as representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Estonia, the Financial Intelligence Unit and the Financial Supervision and Resolution Authority.

The event featured a dynamic lineup of speakers and panel discussions, providing attendees with valuable insights into the latest trends, innovations, and challenges in the digital landscape. Renowned experts in the field shared their expertise on topics such as Financial audit, Internal audit and Reporting.

Key discussions during the event included:
- AUDIT - Every licensed crypto business is required to have external and internal audits every year to ensure they operate in compliance with the laws. The speakers offered an overview of best practices of audit preparations, the most common mistakes and findings and regulatory requirements.
- ACCOUNTING - Speakers presented valuable insights and best practices on accounting and tax matters.
- REPORTING - Crypto Assets Service Providers will start with new quarterly reporting to the National Bank of Estonia. The speakers presented the reasons for the reporting and practical presentation of the new reporting portal and process.
- SEGREGATION OF FUNDS - a vivid discussion on best practices and requirements for the segregation of customers' funds as part of customer protection and fair business practices. Panel participants also argued that Crypto companies are forced to keep customers' EUR funds with Banks and EMIs outside Estonia, as all Estonian banks for years keep declining collaboration with the entire industry.

Estonian new crypto assets law proposal meet-up follow-up
Last Thursday almost 50 of us gathered to discuss and give feedback on the proposed new Estonian Crypto Assets Law 🇪🇪 , bringing MICA to Estonia.
We are sharing some photo impressions from the event.

Estonian Digital Assets Union - Eesti Digivara Liit will now prepare and send an official feedback document to draft law. The deadline to send it to the Ministry of Finance is September 21st. 💬 Feel free to share your thoughts on the proposed law and the meetup.
