Guruji X tweet 02.10.26:
What Is the SatGuru Getting? This question is important. By doing everything that the SatGuru does, what does He actually get? What does He gain from the people who come to Him, trust Him, listen to Him, or walk with Him? In truth, absolutely nothing in the ordinary sense. He does not need anyone’s possessions, recognition, praise, dependence, or surrender for His own benefit. Yet people continue to wonder because the mind naturally sees relationships as an exchange: What does He want from me? What am I losing? Is someone controlling my life? Am I giving away my freedom? These questions may arise, but there is no need to fear them. Instead, become calm and observe for yourself with an open mind. A relationship with the SatGuru is not meant to be based on blind belief or on the opinions of others. It must be understood through personal observation, experience, transformation, and inner clarity. If the mind has already decided what the SatGuru must be or what He must want, genuine observation becomes difficult. The path can sometimes feel difficult because it brings fears, attachments, insecurities, and hidden dependencies into awareness. When this happens, one may begin to question everything: Am I in the right place? What am I losing? Is someone controlling me? But the SatGuru does not ask one to run away from these questions. He gives the strength to face them honestly. The easiest way to overcome fear is often to turn toward it, understand it, and gradually become stronger than it. The SatGuru gains nothing from anyone because His purpose is not to take something from the person, but to help them discover their inner potential and move toward an uninterrupted
relationship with Bhagavan. He is interested in the person’s inner growth and in the strengthening and purification of the mind and heart. He does not want a person to remain dependent upon His physical presence, His words, or any outer circumstance. He slowly strengthens the person from within so that they can stand joyfully even when circumstances change. He may use the outside world as a reminder or mirror, but the real work takes place in the heart. He helps one distinguish between fear, habit, conditioning, and attachment, and the deeper inner understanding that arises from within. When that quiet inner voice shows the pathway, one learns to recognize it and walk upon it. The SatGuru’s joy is not in making a person mechanically obey Him, but in seeing the mind become open enough to recognize deeper intuition and live from it. He does not want to keep one dependent upon the outside; He gradually guides one toward the inner source, so that the relationship with Bhagavan is not dependent upon people, possessions, praise, or circumstances. Therefore, instead of asking, “What is the SatGuru getting from me?”, one can ask, “What is happening within me through this relationship? Am I becoming more open, truthful, fearless, loving, and connected with Bhagavan?” These answers are discovered over time through one’s own experience and transformation. Just be calm and observe with an open mind. The SatGuru does not seek to possess the person; He seeks to help the person become free. He does not replace Bhagavan; He directs the heart toward Bhagavan. He does not seek personal gain. His joy is in seeing the person become inwardly free, established in love, peaceful through changing
circumstances, and ever more deeply connected with SriHari . This is the way of unconditional love: not possession, control, or personal gain, but helping another being awaken to the Divine.
