Walter Moora shares a personal message about our newest initiative to bring more abundance to the local community, Roots and Routes, which aspires to bring eco-tourism into the valley in support of our regeneration efforts.

We are now live on Ma Earth's crowdfunding platform, which offers a very generous, up to 6x, match to all donations that come to projects!

Level up your contribution to building a better Earth and help us help our local community!

One generous donor just gave us a head start, and Ma Earth will multiply every new donation by up to 6x. Here's the catch: it only works if enough of us show up.

Roots & Routes, an initiative of Árbol co(n)razón and Asociación Finca Sagrada, is now live on Ma Earth's collective funding platform. It's built to bring eco-tourism to the Sacred Valley, so the local community can benefit directly from the regenerative work happening here, and become the long-term stewards of these ancestral lands.

The number that matters isn't the size of your gift, it's the number of donors. $1, $5, anything at all bumps our donor count and pushes us toward $10,000+ in matching funds. The smallest gift moves the needle more than you'd think.

Today we planted a mango tree for Cole.

The friendship, the laughter, the Christmas carols were all real. The love this valley gave him, and the love he gave back were real, and still here.

In the Ringing Cedars cosmology they speak of the Space of Love. Land made sacred, not by ritual, but by hands that plant with intention, by lives woven into living things and the memories that permeate the field into eternity. Plant a tree with love and the tree remembers. It holds something of you.

So we gave him a mango tree. A living thing that will outlast every one of us, that will fruit and shade the children here long after we're gone, and that will carry a piece of his memory in every fruit, every seed.

We don't believe a being like him, or any of us, simply stops. What this valley loved in him doesn't end, it returns to the place that loved it.

He's here now. In the soil. In the roots. In the shade that's coming.

When you come and sit under it someday, he'll be here. With you, with us, always and forevermore.

While giving a tour of the farm today, longtime partner of the farm, ancestral steward of the land and leader of the reforestation efforts on Kuntur Wachana, Cristian, describes an experience with the Kogi when they declared the farm a sacred site and, in turn, revealed to him that he is the guardian of the valley.

Numerous intuitive and psychic visitors of Finca Sagrada have been aware of a very deep and ancient, highly elevated energetic nature of this place. Many have recounted their awareness that this was once the site of a temple and a school of the most elevated of traditions in pre-historic times.

There is indeed a magical, mystical nature here, that can certainly be felt, but can also be experienced in the majestic swarms of fireflies that dance around the farm, giving the observer the impression that one is indeed floating amongst the stars.

A dying mountain learning to breathe again.
In the last months on Kuntur Wachana: 433 meters of swales cut by hand across the contour. Twenty tree-island nuclei seeded. A 1,000-meter firebreak. An irrigation pond. A greenbelt. A flushing toilet for the cabin at the top.

This is the largest reforestation effort underway in the Andean dry forest — one of the most degraded ecosystems on the planet, where decades of overgrazing and neglect have stripped these slopes to bone.

Our work is to prove something: that mountains like this can regenerate themselves with minimal financial resources, when the people who live with them love them enough to begin. A methodology rooted in care, observation, and the quiet labor of returning land to itself.

Slow, patient work. The kind that asks for years before it answers.

This is for Pacha Mama.

Trabajo lento. Trabajo paciente. El que pide años antes de responder.

Esto es por la Pacha Mama.

Emilio, Jazmin and Samu, together with the Trews and a visiting family, created a simple compost pile for the Gate House.

Here Emilio explains the basic ingredients to create the most simple compost pile you can make. On the farm, we use various composting methods that include this simple method, humanure and our largest piles are S**C, Static Pile Innoculate Covered Compost, which is a low-cost, no-turn fermentation method of compost.

Interns will learn all of these methods and much how to best utilize the compost created.

Emilio discusses the importance of mulch in the garden as he, Jazmin and Samu do a Minga at the Gate House at Finca Sagrada with the Trew family.

Emilio will be leading the new internship program at Finca Sagrada that is now open for applications and is limited to 6 spots in the first cohort.
