In 1994, Don (58) and I (48) set off in an RV to find an eco-community. We Criss/crossed the USA.. "Too Old," all the places told us so, so we started our own community in Arizona. Since 1974, I have used hot water to ease the pain from spinal scoliosis. I also have sciatica and two metal hips. All my joints have hurt since age 5 due to Rheumatic Fever Arthritis. At age 78, finances and my environmental concern are significant issues. I have used a Snorkel Stove for the last decade to heat my water with found wood and pruning waste. This is my latest attempt (not completed yet) at reducing wood use and water. The basis was concrete block. The stove will go into the deep side, which must be covered with water. I plan to sit and exercise in the checkered shallower side. At my home in Ecuador, the water runs through a tube of compressed minerals, giving me the benefits of a natural mountain spring inside and outside my body.

November 20, 2021 - March 6, 2025
I feel like an elephant is on my chest.
I am OK for a while, and then I start crying in gasping sounds and tons of tears.
Last night, in my dreams, Thor barked me into a fully awake state!
I felt blessed, yet my heart ached, and my soul bled.
I had his collar on my arm all day in real estate court yesterday.
I smelled him to assure myself that I was as safe as he always made me feel.
My best soul buddy is gone, but his memory will never be.
His autopsy revealed that he was killed by an evil person.

I have decided to locate a Golden Retriever puppy to share my love for Thor but never replace him.
I contacted his other vet in Loja. He has already replied to ensure I am not "Gringoed" with a breed unsuitable for training as a service dog.
All the vets in Malacatos, Vilcabamba, and Loja know how I felt about Thor.
However, at my age, it seems more likely that someone would take and love a Golden Retriever over a Doberman at my death. Thinking about death a lot now, as losing Thor made loss all too real and far too soon.

Why We Moved To A Remote Site

For many years, my husband Don and I looked for a land lease between our nonprofit and a land-based nonprofit. The reason we wanted a remote home site where we only leased the land, where we built a house to live out our lives, where we did not inflate the value of the property or of a house, where we have no inheritance concerns regarding our off-spring, and where we could grow our own organic food, was to shrink our "ecological footprint."

We are a married couple; we are also monks. We moved to our rural land-leased homesite with the blessings of U. S. nonprofit: Summerland Monastery, Inc. CAW. We are officers of Summerland Monastery, Inc. CAW. Additionally, Jacqueline Mackenzie is the top female officer in **The Church of All Worlds, Inc. (CAW) and on the CAW International Board of Directors. We both took a legal vow of poverty in 1996; our paperwork was notarized all those decades ago; we own nothing; we are monks in service to our faith: Responsible stewardship and the evolution of consciousness.

**The mission of the Church of All Worlds is to evolve a network of information, mythology and experience that provides a context and stimulus for reawakening Gaia and reuniting Her children through tribal community dedicated to responsible stewardship and the evolution of consciousness.
