🌿🐆 Exciting news from the Wawazonia Project in the Ecuadorian Amazon!
Thanks to the donation of wildlife cameras, we have gained a unique insight into life within more than 2,000 hectares of protected rainforest over the past two months. The cameras have already recorded more than 20 species of mammals and birds, including all five wild cat species found in the Ecuadorian Amazon, among them the jaguar, puma, and ocelot.
These findings confirm that the rainforest remains intact and supports an extraordinary level of biodiversity. At the same time, the project creates local jobs and opportunities for young people in Shuar communities through sustainable forestry, forest restoration, and wildlife monitoring.
A huge thank you to our donors for making this work possible. Together, we are creating value for the climate, biodiversity, and the people who depend on the rainforest. 🌎🌱
