Paws-Olon provides much-needed veterinary and educational assistance, at no-cost or low-cost, to the People of the Communa Olon, a rural coastal Montubio community in Ecuador, South America. Founded by an expat from Houston TX, Rebecca Cox, Paws-Olon volunteers work tirelessly to provide services aimed at maintaining the health of local small animals, both pets and street animals. Paws-Olon also runs a free/low-cost clinic with veterinary care, open three days a week, providing emergency surgery, regular wellness checkups and inoculations, and treatment for chronic issues. Our veterinarian receives a small stipend as well as travel, room & board, and the remainder of the Clinic staff are volunteers. (If you would like to volunteer, please send us a message!)

There are no animal shelters or sanctuaries in the area for the safe rehabilitation of injured animals and to house animals seeking new homes. We hope to respond to that need in the coming year.
