122 Children Recovered in Florida’s Largest Child Rescue Operation Ever
Florida’s, “Operation Home for the Holidays” has resulted in the recovery of 122 missing and endangered children—now considered the largest child-recovery mission of its kind.
Children between the ages of 2 and 17, many of whom were reported as missing, were brought to safety. Officials say that many had endured “unspeakable” victimization before being found.
This initiative was a two-week, multiagency effort focused entirely on locating vulnerable children and removing them from dangerous situations of human trafficking. While most were found within Florida, the search stretched across state lines and even international borders.
Children were located in:
• Tampa, Florida
• Orlando, Florida
• Jacksonville, Florida
• Fort Myers, Florida
• Other cities across nine additional U.S. states
• Mexico (one child recovered)
• Guatemala (one child recovered)
Alongside the rescue efforts, six adults were arrested on charges ranging from lewd and lascivious acts to multiple counts of s*xual battery. Authorities say more arrests are expected as ongoing investigations continue.
This historic operation represents 122 young lives removed from harm—and the ongoing commitment to pursue anyone who exploits or endangers children.
We are so thankful that these 122 innocent children are safe!
