Two months ago, we received a phone call from the hospital about a newborn baby boy named Noah.
He had been born under very difficult circumstances and was dangerously underweight. The nurses were deeply concerned and asked if we could help.
Noah’s father works part-time labor jobs when work is available, earning only about $20–$25 a day — and many weeks, he is only able to find work two or three days a week. For this young family, providing even the basics for a fragile newborn felt impossible.
But because of our recurring donors, we were able to respond immediately.
We provided food, diapers, and emergency support for the family. We helped them apply for assistance programs and connected them with additional services. We were even able to secure sponsorship so Noah’s family could join our permanent food bank program during these critical early years of his life.
Today, just two months later, Noah’s bright eyes and chubby cheeks tell a completely different story. Noah is not yet at his best weight range, but we will continue to monitor him and help the family maintain visits to the pediatrician at the loan hospital.
This is what recurring giving does.
Monthly donors allow us to say “yes” when the hospital calls. They allow us to respond immediately when babies and families are in crisis. They turn fear into hope.
If you have ever wondered whether a monthly gift makes a difference, this is your answer. For only $16-$25 a month, we can add a new family to our food bank program.
Please consider becoming a recurring donor through our website and help us continue responding to emergencies like Noah’s. Even small monthly gifts help provide life-changing support to vulnerable families here in coastal Ecuador.
You can be part of the next success story. ❤️
