Amarun Yaya

Amarun Yaya Vive la experiencia y cosmovisión de la cultura Kichwa, a orillas del majestuoso Río Napo. We try to be self sustainable as much as possible.

Hi there, my family and I welcome you in our Amazon paradise near the river. We have monkeys, big big butterflies, birds that make futuristic jungle sounds, all kinds of fish to eat, and many many more nice animals. We are involved in protecting and rescuing the Kichwa culture and identity as well in protecting all species of animals and plants in this region. We offer you a place to sleep near th

e house of my Kichwa family or in traditional bamboo huts. You can also bring a tent if you wish. We all have a very rich knowledge of medicinal and other plants, of all animals living in this jungle region. We are experienced guides in how to survive with what the earth is giving. In our effort to create work for the people of the community, we run a small tourism project. Tourists visit our place during one day trips in the region. We also make and sell handcraft jewelry. In our free time we go swim or play football and volleybal. Or we make trips by boat. We are very much in need of help from people outside the community to develop our project. We need input and support from workers all over over the world in all kinds of tasks. For example:

- create and develop a website in which we can explain our vision on our Kichwa identity, our way of living and about protecting nature
- help in our effort to become self sustainable by planting fruit trees and grow vegetables.
- help in our effort to reforestate this region that is
threatened by oil companies by planting trees of species that are in danger
- help in the construction of Kichwa houses with bamboo and other renewable materials
- give english lessons to children and adults
- start up with permaculture
- start up with investigation of the number of species living in the region and creation of an index of scientific names. The language of the project is Spanish and Kichwa. We are used to deal with people who speak very little Spanish, so don't worry. We are very patient. And we speak some words of English too. We kindly ask you to work about five hours a day. Saturday afternoon and Sunday we don't work. And anyway we are very relaxed. We ask a donation of 10 dollar per day per person. This includes a stay in a typical Kichwa house, guiding in jungle survival techniques, introduction in Kichwa culture and language, ancestral ceremonies. Food supply is not included, except the food grown in the project like all kinds of bananas, fruit, fish, meet, ...

We hope to welcome you one day in our community. VERSiON ESPAÑOL
