En marge du Forum d’examen des migrations internationales ( ) à New York, M. Sofiane Chaib, Secrétaire d’État auprès du Ministre des Affaires étrangères chargé de la Communauté nationale à l’étranger, a rencontré Amy Pope afin d’échanger sur la coopération en cours en matière de gouvernance des migrations et de coordination internationale.

Les échanges ont mis en avant l’importance du renforcement des partenariats, des approches globales de la migration, ainsi que de la coopération internationale continue pour répondre aux défis et opportunités liés à la migration.

L’OIM Algérie se félicite de la poursuite de sa collaboration avec les autorités nationales et les partenaires en faveur d’une migration sûre, ordonnée et régulière, fondée sur la dignité, la solidarité et la responsabilité partagée.

Lors du Forum d’examen des migrations internationales (IMRF), M. Rachid Meddah, Directeur général des affaires consulaires et de la communauté nationale à l’étranger, a mis en avant l’engagement constant de l’Algérie en faveur d’une gouvernance des migrations fondée sur une approche globale et équilibrée.
Dans son intervention, M. Meddah a souligné l’importance du renforcement des services consulaires afin de mieux répondre aux besoins des ressortissants algériens à l’étranger, tout en promouvant une migration sûre, ordonnée et régulière. Il a également mis en exergue le rôle des institutions nationales dans la protection des citoyens à l’étranger et le renforcement des liens avec la diaspora.
Cette déclaration a réaffirmé l’engagement de l’Algérie en faveur du dialogue international et de la coopération en matière de gouvernance des migrations, dans le respect des principes de solidarité, de dignité et des droits des migrants.

خلال المنتدى الدولي لاستعراض الهجرة (IMRF)، أبرز السيد رشيد مداح، المدير العام للشؤون القنصلية والجالية الوطنية بالخارج، التزام الجزائر المتواصل بحوكمة الهجرة من خلال مقاربة شاملة ومتوازنة.
وفي مداخلته، شدّد السيد مداح على أهمية تعزيز الخدمات القنصلية بما يضمن الاستجابة بشكل أفضل لاحتياجات المواطنين الجزائريين المقيمين بالخارج، مع ترقية الهجرة الآمنة والمنظمة والنظامية. كما أكد على دور المؤسسات الوطنية في حماية المواطنين بالخارج وتعزيز الروابط مع الجالية.
كما جدّد هذا التدخل تأكيد التزام الجزائر بالحوار الدولي والتعاون في مجال حوكمة الهجرة، بما ينسجم مع مبادئ التضامن والكرامة واحترام حقوق المهاجرين.

At the International Migration Review Forum (IMRF), Mr. Rachid Meddah, Director General for Consular Affairs and the National Community Abroad, highlighted Algeria’s sustained commitment to migration governance through a comprehensive and balanced approach.
In his remarks, Mr. Meddah underscored the importance of strengthening consular services to better respond to the needs of Algerian nationals abroad, while promoting safe, orderly and regular migration. He also emphasized the role of national institutions in protecting citizens overseas and fostering strong ties with the diaspora.
The statement further reaffirmed Algeria’s commitment to international dialogue and cooperation on migration governance, in line with shared principles of solidarity, dignity and respect for migrants’ rights.

Great to see the continued progress of the IOM–Denmark Migration Management Programme – CAPACITY.

IOM Algeria, which joined the programme on 01 January 2026, participated in the Programme Review and Learning Workshop held last week in Copenhagen, joining colleagues from across the other implementing countries (Nigeria, Lebanon, Morocco, Somalia and Syria to reflect on progress, share experiences, and strengthen collective approaches.

A valuable opportunity to reinforce coordination and ensure continued, context-responsive implementation.

L’OIM Algérie a rencontré l’Office National de Protection et de Promotion de l’Enfance (ONPPE) afin de renforcer la collaboration en matière de protection de l’enfance, avec une attention particulière portée aux enfants migrants et en situation de vulnérabilité.

Les échanges ont permis de mettre en lumière les mécanismes nationaux de signalement, notamment le numéro vert 11-11, l’application Allo Tofola ainsi que la plateforme numérique dédiée, tout en soulignant le rôle central de l’ONPPE dans la coordination et la protection de l’enfance en Algérie. Les discussions ont également porté sur les priorités du Plan national pour l’enfance 2026–2030, qui orientent les efforts nationaux en matière de protection et de promotion des droits de l’enfant.

Cette rencontre ouvre des perspectives concrètes de collaboration, notamment à travers la mise en place de formations sur la migration, la protection de l’enfance et la traite des personnes, ainsi que des actions de sensibilisation et de renforcement des capacités, y compris à destination des professionnels des médias.

À travers ce partenariat, l’OIM réaffirme son engagement à soutenir les efforts nationaux visant à garantir la protection, la dignité et le bien-être de tous les enfants.

التقت المنظمة الدولية للهجرة في الجزائر بـ الهيئة الوطنية لحماية وترقية الطفولة (ONPPE) من أجل تعزيز التعاون في مجال حماية الطفل، مع التركيز بشكل خاص على الأطفال المهاجرين والأطفال في وضعية هشّة.
وسلطت المناقشات الضوء على آليات التبليغ الوطنية، بما في ذلك الرقم الأخضر 11-11، وتطبيق Allo Tofola، والمنصة الرقمية، مع التأكيد على الدور المحوري الذي تضطلع به الهيئة في تنسيق جهود حماية الطفل في الجزائر. كما تناولت اللقاءات أولويات المخطط الوطني للطفولة 2026–2030، الذي يوجّه الجهود الوطنية في مجال حماية حقوق الطفل وتعزيزها.
وقد فتحت هذه المشاورات آفاقًا لتعزيز التعاون، لا سيما من خلال تطوير دورات تدريبية حول الهجرة وحماية الطفل والاتجار بالأشخاص، إضافة إلى تنفيذ أنشطة للتوعية وبناء القدرات، بما في ذلك لفائدة وسائل الإعلام.
ومن خلال هذه الشراكة، تجدد المنظمة الدولية للهجرة التزامها بدعم الجهود الوطنية الرامية إلى ضمان حماية وكرامة ورفاه جميع الأطفال.

IOM Algeria met with the National Office for the Protection and Promotion of Children (ONPPE) to strengthen collaboration on child protection, with a particular focus on migrant children and those in vulnerable situations.

Discussions highlighted national reporting mechanisms, including the 11-11 hotline, the Allo Tofola mobile application, and the digital reporting platform, while also underscoring the central role of ONPPE in coordinating child protection efforts in Algeria. The meeting further addressed key priorities under the National Child Protection Plan 2026–2030, which guides national efforts to protect and promote the rights of children.

The exchange opened avenues for strengthened collaboration, including the development of trainings on migration, child protection, and trafficking in persons, as well as awareness-raising and capacity-building initiatives, including for media professionals.

Through this partnership, IOM reaffirms its commitment to supporting national efforts to ensure the protection, dignity, and well-being of all children.

Une réunion de travail s’est tenue aujourd’hui entre le Comité interministériel en charge des questions migratoires en Algérie et l’Organisation internationale pour les migrations (OIM) en Algérie, dans le cadre du processus d’élaboration du Rapport des Indicateurs de gouvernance des migrations (IGM).

Cette rencontre a réuni plusieurs départements sectoriels appelés à contribuer à ce processus, afin d’assurer une approche coordonnée et inclusive.

Les échanges ont porté sur la méthodologie des IGM, les contributions attendues des différentes parties prenantes, ainsi que sur la planification des prochaines étapes, notamment les consultations thématiques à venir.

Cette réunion marque une étape clé dans le renforcement de la coordination interinstitutionnelle et dans la promotion d’une gouvernance des migrations fondée sur des données et des indicateurs reconnus au niveau international.

‎عُقد اليوم اجتماع عمل بين اللجنة الوزارية المشتركة المعنية بقضايا الهجرة في الجزائر والمنظمة الدولية للهجرة (IOM) في الجزائر، وذلك في إطار إعداد تقرير مؤشرات حوكمة الهجرة.

وقد جمع هذا الاجتماع ممثلين عن عدد من القطاعات الوزارية والهيئات المعنية، في سبيل ضمان اعتماد مقاربة منسقة وشاملة لهذا المسار.

وتركزت المناقشات حول منهجية مؤشرات حوكمة الهجرة، ومساهمات مختلف الأطراف المعنية، إضافة إلى عرض وتخطيط المراحل المقبلة، لا سيما تنظيم مشاورات موضوعية خلال الفترة القادمة.

ويمثل هذا الاجتماع خطوة مهمة نحو تعزيز التنسيق بين المؤسسات، ودعم حوكمة الهجرة القائمة على بيانات ومؤشرات معترف بها دولياً.

A working meeting was held today between the Interministerial Committee on migration in Algeria and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Algeria, as part of the process to develop the Migration Governance Indicators (MGI) report.

The meeting brought together key sectoral departments contributing to this process, ensuring a coordinated and inclusive approach.

Discussions focused on the MGI methodology, expected contributions from stakeholders, and the planning of next steps, including upcoming thematic consultations.

This meeting marks an important step in strengthening inter-institutional coordination and advancing migration governance based on internationally recognized data and indicators.

Cette semaine, l’OIM a facilité le retour volontaire sûr et digne de 293 migrants depuis l’Algérie vers le Bénin.

Avant leur départ, un accompagnement en santé mentale et soutien psychosocial (MHPSS), incluant des ateliers de médiation artistique, ainsi que des activités de subsistance, ont été proposés afin d’aider les migrants à retrouver un sentiment de stabilité et de bien-être.

Ces retours reflètent un effort collectif fort entre partenaires. Les opérations ont été rendues possibles grâce à la collaboration étroite avec les autorités algériennes, ainsi qu’avec le Gouvernement du Bénin, qui a déployé une mission consulaire en Algérie pour soutenir l’identification et la documentation de ses ressortissants.

Au-delà du retour, l’OIM continue d’accompagner les migrants à leur arrivée à travers un appui à la réintégration, afin de les aider à reconstruire leur vie dans leur pays d’origine.

À travers ces efforts conjoints, le retour volontaire devient bien plus qu’un processus — il constitue un levier de réintégration, de stabilité et d’opportunités renouvelées.

This week, IOM facilitated the safe and dignified voluntary return of 293 migrants from Algeria to Benin.

Prior to departure, assistance such as mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), including art-based mediation workshops, was offered to help migrants regain a sense of stability and well-being, as well as livelihood activities.

These returns reflect a strong collective effort between partners. The operations were made possible thanks to the close collaboration with the Government of Algeria, alongside the Government of Benin, which deployed a consular mission to Algeria to support the identification and documentation of its nationals.

Beyond the return journey, IOM continues to support migrants upon arrival through reintegration assistance, helping them rebuild their lives in their countries of origin. Through such joint efforts, voluntary return becomes more than a process — it becomes a pathway to reintegration, stability, and renewed opportunities.
