A dedicated session on international patent protection

As part of our partnership with INAPI DZ, our startups took part in a dedicated session on international patent protection, with a focus on the PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) and World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO.

The session covered the essentials of international patent filing, how to identify strategic markets for protection, and why intellectual property should be integrated into a startup’s growth strategy both internationally and in Algeria.

Our entrepreneurs also had the opportunity to engage in a practical Q&A session, followed by networking and an interactive test and reinforce their knowledge.

A big thank you to Mr. Ali Eldjazairi, International Expert at WIPO, and the entire INAPI team for sharing their expertise and engaging with our entrepreneurs.

Protecting innovation is an essential part of scaling it.

The ESG Excellence Summit 2026 has officially come to a close.

Held under the high patronage of the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and Startups and Micro-entreprises, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Vocational Training & Education - Algeria, and the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts, the Summit brought together 150+ decision-makers and key ecosystem players around a shared ambition: making ESG a driver of transformation, competitiveness and sustainable growth.

We were honored by the inauguration and presence of Mr. نور الدين واضح - Noureddine Ouadah, Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups and Micro-entreprises, and H.E. Mr. Diego Mellado Pascua, Ambassador of the Union européenne en Algérie.

🌊 Leancubator at the Atlantic-WestMED Stakeholder Conference

Representing Leancubator, Nesrine R. ZIAD Ziad, Programs Director, joined the Islands, Coastal and Outermost Regions: Shared Challenges and Opportunities session at the Atlantic-WestMED Stakeholder Conference.

The panel brought together Javier Garat Pérez (Europêche, EESC – NAT Section), Marianna Venuleo (Canary Islands Institute of Technology, ATL.A.HUB EMFAF Project), Francisco Javier Roo Filgueira (ACIISI) and Irene Vecchiato (DG MARE, European Commission) and other key stakeholders.

The discussion explored shared territorial challenges, from climate resilience and blue economy diversification to youth retention and sustainable tourism.

One point stood out: blue economy innovation cannot be approached like any other innovation.

Blue economy activities are deeply connected to territories, ecosystems, communities and value chains. Progress depends on connecting sectors, knowledge, entrepreneurs, industry and markets.

For Leancubator, this means going beyond supporting startups. It means creating the right conditions to test solutions in real environments, build cross-sector partnerships, connect with industry and move from pilots to market adoption.

🌍 ESG Excellence Summit 2026: A Pioneering Platform for ESG Dialogue in Algeria

On 22 September 2026, Algiers will bring together business leaders, financial institutions, investors, regulators, public institutions, international organisations and innovation actors for the first edition of the ESG Excellence Summit.

Organised by Leancubator, the Summit will explore how Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) can become a driver of competitiveness, investment attractiveness and sustainable growth in .

The programme will address key issues shaping the ESG transition, including sustainable finance and investment, CBAM and international market requirements, energy and industry, circular economy, ESG governance and risk management, innovation, human capital, inclusion and employability.
