As we close the chapter on another wonderful IWC term, today’s General Assembly was a beautiful celebration of friendship, teamwork, and gratitude.

Together, we reflected on the memories, achievements, and connections that made the 2025/26 term so special. Thank you to our incredible Board for their dedication and countless hours of hard work.

At the same time, we warmly welcomed the new Board 2026/27 and wish them a successful and inspiring year ahead.

The afternoon was made even more special as everyone brought delicious dishes and drinks to share, creating a true spirit of friendship and togetherness.

A very special thank you to Tatihana Flores for the beautiful commemorative plates she lovingly created for the board members every single year.

And finally, thank you to all our members for your support, participation, and enthusiasm throughout the year. IWC is what it is because of each and every one of you.

Our visit this Monday to Arajet headquarters in Santo Domingo was truly inspiring ✈️

A huge thank you to Doris G. Cifuentes for making this visit possible. We were so impressed by the beautiful office, the vibrant atmosphere, and the incredible work culture behind the country’s biggest and fastest-growing airline.

We’re also deeply grateful for the warm welcome from CEO & Founder Víctor Pacheco Méndez, and for the wonderful tour and insightful explanations by Patricia, Ivanna, and Shadey.

This month’s Coffee, Theme and Chat was guided by our amazing Marla Gibson, who walked us through a journey to discover our real purpose in life. Our session was a balanced combination of moments of reflection and sharing. She always succeeds at touching the very core.
Grateful for this heartwarming circle and the reminder that big change starts within.

Today’s visit to Fundación La Merced was truly inspiring. ❤️

Founded by our dearest Padre Tomás García, the foundation was created to provide a better life for children and adolescents, freeing them from child labor and restoring their rights and opportunities.

What began in the early 2000s with Padre Tomás helping a few “limpia botas” boys and founded the Fundación Niños Limpiabotas La Merced later became the beautiful Fundación La Merced we know today.

We had the honor of meeting some of the amazing people behind this mission, sharing activities with the children, and touring the facilities. Thank you for welcoming us with so much warmth and love.

Big thanks to María del Pilar López Rodríguez (Co-Founder), Alberto Jiménez Caballero (Executive Director), Rosalía Flores (Coordinator de Valores Mercedarios), Dulce Roso (Psychopedagogue), the dedicated volunteer Ana Marban and all the staffs for receiving us.

This morning we had the honor of welcoming María Elena Moré, Executive Director of Chavón School of Design , as our inspiring guest speaker. Photographer, marketer, and educator, she shared her story and insights from her book Marileidy Paulino: "Camino al Sueño Olímpico", celebrating the journey of Marileidy Paulino, the first Dominican woman to win Olympic gold 🥇

It was such a pleasure meeting new members and guests, and adding a little fun to the morning with Kahoot. Congratulations to our winner, Katherine Santana!

Last Wednesday, the IWC Cultural Cuisine Club gathered for a beautiful Brazilian lunch at Cecilia’s home, with a gorgeous view to match.

We enjoyed a delicious Feijoada experience. Thank you, Cecilia, for generously opening your home and hosting us so graciously.

It was wonderful to reconnect with old friends and welcome many new ones into our community.

A special highlight was the raffle and auction, featuring authentic Brazilian treasures donated by Cecilia, from handmade embroidered linen towels and Bumba Meu Boi clay ox pieces to Brazilian f**a good luck charms and many more. Congratulations to all the lucky winners!

We are deeply grateful for everyone’s participation and support. Thanks to Cecilia’s generosity, all proceeds from this event will go toward the IWC Charities program 🙏
