We wrapped up our 2023 trip with a stop in the capital city of Santo Domingo. This year's trip was particularly special as it marked 20 years of Homerun Hopefuls supporting youth development in the Dominican Republic through the lessons of baseball and education! Over the years our group has helped thousands of children, and have even seen some of them sign with MLB clubs - perhaps more importantly, we've made some very good friends along the way.

Given that we have ramped back up since the pandemic, we are raising money to help cover basic operating expenses - primarily storage, packing, and shipping costs. The generosity of our supporters has made it possible for us to carry on this mission for so long - we truly thank you.

We opened day 3 of our 2023 trip with a stop in Santiago, Santo Domingo's rival. After delivering the equipment to the kids in Santiago, we visited Cibao Stadium, home of Santiago's Aguilas Cibaeñas. Next, we visited a new stop in Moca, also known as Las Lagunas. Finally, we ended the day with a bang, visiting a group of leagues in the nation's capital, Santo Domingo. Santo Domingo was by far the largest and most energetic group we've met on the trip.

We kicked off day 2 of our trip by taking it back to where it all started. La Romana, the first league that Homerun Hopefuls ever supported, enjoyed a 3 inning game with our volunteers. Next, we visited San Pedro de Macoris and met the most energy-packed group so far! Our final stop was Osuelo, where old, nostalgic equipment met new, bright beginnings. Looking forward to day 3!

Yesterday, we kicked off our 2023 trip to the Dominican Republic! On day 1, we spent time reconnecting with old friends (Peralta and Nizao) and meeting new ones (Azua). Nothing beats the excitement in the air when our bus pulls up to a field. Though it's particularly special to hear that the towns we have supported through the years have had some MLB signings recently!

We wrapped up our 2022 trip by stopping by Sabana Perdida this morning. We packed a whole lot into this year's trip, which was extra special as it was our first time back in the Dominican Republic as a full group since the pandemic.

We've already started receiving donations for next year, and are looking forward to returning to the Dominican in 2023. ¡Jugar duro, estudiar duro!

Today, we stayed in Santo Domingo and visited with several leagues in the capital. We got to play a little softball and "pepper" with the kids - baseball is a global language! ¡Jugar duro, estudiar duro!

A long day of traveling today, but well worth it to experience the excitement at every community we visited. Today, we reunited with old friends in Nizao, Peralta, and San Cristobal. We also made great new friends in Monte Grande. ¡Jugar duro, estudiar duro!

Homerun Hopefuls arrived in the Dominican Republic and spent the day visiting leagues in La Romana, San Pedro, and Santo Domingo. It's been wonderful returning to the Dominican as a group and being welcomed by so many old friends.

The 2022 trip is off to a fantastic start!
