Last Wednesday, we experienced a moment filled with pride and hope for the entire San Juan region: the inauguration of the first stage of the Palo Quemao community aqueduct, a project that is already transforming the lives of hundreds of families in Guayabal, Palo Quemao, Asiento de Luisa, Los Portugueses, and La Higuera.
Seeing water flow for the first time in many of these communities is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when people come together around a shared dream.

This milestone was made possible through the partnership between FUNDASEP and Nature Power Foundation, and the committed support of Banco BHD, INAPA, Parroquia San Alfonso, Cáritas of the Diocese of San Juan de la Maguana, the Ministry of Environment, Cross Catholic Outreach, and the Community Water Committee. Each institution played a vital role in turning this long-awaited project into a tangible reality for local families.

And we keep moving forward. The second stage includes the installation of a filtration system that will bring water quality to an even more dignified and secure level.
This is just the beginning of a profound change in the well-being of these rural communities.

This photo says more than a thousand words 📸✨. Meet “La Chula,” a beloved woman in her community and one of the beneficiaries of Nature Village 1, in Sábana Yegua Viejo, Azua. That day was historic: for the first time ever, this community received clean drinking water at home 💧🎉. Her smile and the look in her eyes remind us why we do what we do.

Just like with La Chula, we want to reach more people, change lives, and bring dignity, health, and hope to more communities across the country ❤️🌎. Our dream is that every community has access to the basics they need to live well.

This kind of transformation is only possible thanks to committed 💪🔥 who believe in the strength of collective action and the power to change lives.

Chicas Solares is a program by Nature Power Foundation that helps young women from vulnerable communities in the Dominican Republic. They learn about solar energy ☀️, basic electricity 🔌, and sustainability 🌱.

The program also builds their confidence, leadership, and teamwork skills 💪👭. With job guidance and internships, they get ready to work in clean energy and create a better, fairer future for everyone ⚡🌍.

We finally have water!💧

That was the joyful and relieved shout heard in Calabaza, Peravia, Dominican Republic. 🇩🇴

After months of work together with a great team, we brought water to this community.
Thanks to the dedication of Juan Domingo, our water project manager, and the constant support of Yaeli Báez, who never left the community’s side, we made it happen.

Every drop represents effort, dignity, and a better future.
Today, we celebrate a new chapter in Calabaza’s story.
