We’ve had a great first week back at school.

Despite the difficult situation in our community, with immigration enforcement separating families and leaving many people unable to work, we remain committed to providing a safe, loving, and supportive space for our students.

We didn’t quite meet our back to school fundraising goal, but there is still time to help and we hope you will consider doing so! Right now, we are going to focus on making sure our students who are most in need have what they need to come to school. Many of these children’s parents or guardians have been deported and they are on their own.

What we need now:

🎒 9 school bags: $18 x 9 =$162
👟 25 pairs of school shoes:$35=$875
📚 100 more notebooks: $2.50=$250
👖 32 pairs of school pants:$22 x32=$704

Classroom needs:
🌀 1 new fan for Grade 3 — RD$3,000 / $71
🪑 8 plastic chairs for teachers & staff — $12 each
📓 7 large notebooks for teachers — $9 each

Thank you for helping us give every student at our school the opportunity to have a great school year!

📚 Just $10 can provide a student with a required textbook!

And here’s the amazing part: your $10 donation doesn’t help just one student for one year.

Our textbooks have an average lifespan of 5–7 years, meaning the same book can continue helping students year after year.

Please consider helping with this need. Back-to-school is such an exciting time for our students, but it also comes with a lot of expenses and needs.

Our goal is 167 new text books!

Thank you to everyone who makes it possible ❤️

It’s Back-to-School time! We’ve spent this week registering our returning students and will soon open remaining spaces to children who need them most.

Our school serves children from families experiencing poverty who have no other opportunity to attend school. Thanks to our incredible sponsors and monthly donors, our students receive dedicated teachers, a healthy lunch every day, and the education they deserve. ❤️

Our biggest needs:

📓 Notebooks — $2.50 CAD | 75 needed
📚 Textbooks — $10 CAD | 167 needed
🎒 School Bags — $18 CAD | 63 needed
👖 Uniform Pants — $22 CAD | 70 needed
👟 School Shoes — $35 CAD | 59 needed
🏃🏽 Gym Uniforms — $25 CAD | 90 needed

Every donation helps a child return to school prepared, confident, and ready to learn. Together, we can help break the cycle of poverty through education.

🚨 A missing document shouldn’t end a child’s education.

Our Grade 6 students have worked hard and dream of becoming doctors, teachers, lawyers, and engineers. But without a Haitian birth certificate that is legalized and officially translated into Spanish, they cannot register for high school in the Dominican Republic.

This Friday, we have the opportunity to help 18 students obtain the documents they need. We also hope to prepare 8 Grade 5 students in advance and complete the legalization and translation for 4 children who already have birth certificates.

💙 Cost to help one child: RD$4,800 (approximately CA$116 / US$83)

Will you sponsor one child's birth certificate or make a donation of any amount? Every donation, even a small one can help make a very big difference.

Let's get some of our students to high school this year!!

School is officially out which means it’s almost time for… summer camp!

For many of our older students who are now young adults, summer camp remains their favourite childhood memory. It’s where they experienced their first time in a pool, and although it may be hard to believe the truth is for many it was their first time swimming at the beach. 🏊‍♀️🏄‍♂️ Many of these young adults believe so much in its goodness they have agreed to volunteer to make it happen!

This summer, we'll have learning & activity days at the school along with exciting outings including beach days, a trip to the waterpark, waterfalls, a visit to the top of Mount Isabel de Torres and maybe even a trip to Ocean World.

We need your help to make it happen!

Please consider sponsoring a student to attend summer camp. The cost is $65 CND/ $47 USD/ $2,800 Dominican Pesos. This covers the cost of all their activities, snacks, lunch, and transportation. *
