As we reflect on this past year, our hearts are full of gratitude and celebration. This year marked a truly special milestone for TEARS as we honored our founders, Rod and Twila, celebrating 30 years of ministry in the Dominican Republic. Their faithful leadership has helped shape decades of transformation in the lives of students, families, and communities.

*This Year's Highlights*

Expanding Education Opportunities
Our high school officially became a Polytechnic High School, now offering three new diploma programs:

* Marketing and Commerce
* Nursing Assistant
* Information Technology (IT)

In September, we completed the construction of three additional classrooms to support this growth. We are grateful to be serving 761 students across all our education centers this year.

Strengthening Families & Communities
Through our Family Empowerment Program, 15 families were impacted in 2025, receiving support to start small businesses and work toward long-term sustainability.

Caring for Health Needs
This year, we opened a new Eye Clinic, which is now serving our community.
Our Wellness Center and Dental Clinic also continue to provide essential care and support.

Growing Our Team
As our programs expand, so does our team. We are thankful to now have 142 dedicated staff members serving across our ministries.

As the year comes to a close, we want to thank you for being part of this journey. Your prayers, generosity, and support make these milestones possible.

What a blessing! This month, for a whole week, our friends from joined TEARS to share love with locals both in Neyba and La Vega, Dominican Republic. Together, we planted seeds—both in the soil where we dream of building a school, and in hearts through the gospel alongside local churches.

Yes, the Dominican heat was intense! But our hearts were even more on fire as we fellowshipped with believers new and old, and embraced the vibrant beauty of Dominican culture.

This is just the beginning of what God is doing in Neyba! 🌱✨

Every year, the students at the James Davis (T.E.A.R.S) High School take a special trip to Neyba, Dominican Republic—not for vacation, but for mission.

Through music, dance, skits, and spoken word, they share the love of Christ in local schools and elderly homes. It’s a time when their faith is not only spoken, but lived out in acts of service, joy, and compassion. Hearts are stirred, lives are touched, and God’s presence is felt in every interaction.

"Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." — Matthew 5:16

These students truly let their light shine this year. From worshiping with children to embracing the elderly with love and laughter, they carried the gospel with boldness and humility.

We’re so proud of the way they represented Christ—and we pray that the seeds planted in Neyba will continue to grow in the hearts of those they encountered.

Last Sunday, our church family at El Camino was overjoyed to celebrate the sacred union of our dear long-time members, Carlos & Miguelina. ❤️ Their love is a testament to God's faithfulness, reminding us that “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord” (Proverbs 18:22).

As they embark on this beautiful journey together, we pray that their marriage reflects Christ’s love for His Church (Ephesians 5:25) and is built upon the unshakable foundation of faith, hope, and love. May their hearts always be bound by the truth of 1 Corinthians 13:4-7—a love that is patient, kind, and never fails.

Join us in celebrating and praying for Carlos & Miguelina, that the Lord may bless them abundantly and guide their steps forever. “Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate” (Mark 10:9).

We want to thank the Vegan Entrepreneurs Cooperative for partnering with us and supporting TEARS Foundation Family Empowerment project. This partnership is the next step in establishing and further strengthening the Family Empowerment Program that was launched 4 years ago at TEARS. Since then, more than 40 families have been trained and 34 families have been empowered. They have received the essential small business and development training needed to strengthen and grow their micro-enterprises. Our Family Empowerment Program will continue to provide essential training and with the help of Coopevega, our families will now have the added benefits and support of a strong local cooperative.

Queremos agradecer a la Cooperativa de Emprendedores Veganos por asociarse con nosotros y apoyar el proyecto de Empoderamiento Familiar. Esta alianza es el siguiente paso para establecer y fortalecer aún más el Programa de Empoderamiento Familiar que se puso en marcha hace 4 años en TEARS. Desde entonces, más de 40 familias han recibido capacitación y 34 familias han sido empoderadas.
Han recibido la formación esencial sobre pequeñas empresas y desarrollo necesaria para fortalecer y hacer crecer sus microempresas.
Nuestro Programa de Empoderamiento Familiar continuará proporcionando formación esencial y con la ayuda de Coopevega, nuestras familias tendrán ahora los beneficios añadidos y el apoyo de una fuerte cooperativa local.

Last week we hosted two graduations: one for our sixth-graders who will be moving on to new adventures at the James Davis High School, and another for our kinder-gardeners moving on to first grade at our elementary school. As always, it has been a blessing to watch these kids grow, and we're beyond thankful for our supporters that allow us to continue our work.

It's that time of year again, and our students are freshly returned from their trip to Neyba. The motto for this year's class is John 14:5-6, a moment wherein Jesus explains to Thomas that he (Jesus) is, "The way and the truth and the life," and that, "No one comes to the Father except through [him]."

As most field trips go, this was a fun trip... but it wasn't just fun. In fact, our seniors spent a great deal of their time meeting new people and sharing the love and truth of the gospel. As always, we are delighted to share their experiences with all of you.

In preparation for this years senior trip to minister in Neyba, our senior students went to visit friends at the neighboring school of San Francisco de Sales, where they danced, sang, shared the gospel, and prayed for anybody who wanted prayer. The event was a joy to witness, and it was good practice, too! Now, going forward, we're excited for them and the good work we know they'll be doing. As they go, we ask for your thoughts and prayers over them—now, and into the future, as they develop into the pillars of their respective communities.

Today we want to highlight our awesome dental team 🥳. It is thanks to our donors, and this team's tireless efforts, that so many members of our community have been able to enjoy affordable access to dental care.
