The South Oldham Rotary Club is proud to support meaningful global impact! 🌍

We recently presented a $1,500 donation to Starfish Missions, Inc. to help provide required school uniforms, shoes, and basic supplies for underprivileged children in the Dominican Republic.

Through partnerships with local churches, Starfish Missions identifies children at risk of missing school due to financial hardship. Their team then travels to the Dominican Republic to personally facilitate the purchase and distribution of these essential items, ensuring support goes directly where it’s needed most.

Thanks to these efforts, 643 children were equipped for school last year, opening doors to education and brighter futures. 📚

We were honored to present the donation to Michael Searcy (President, Treasurer & Co-Founder) and Beth Searcy (Vice President, Secretary & Co-Founder), with the check presented by Rotary Club President Tim Feeley.

Together, we’re making a difference—one child at a time. 💙

At Starfish Missions, we are blessed to serve underprivileged children in the Dominican Republic by providing the mandatory school supplies they need to attend school—supplies that open doors to education, opportunity, and hope.

…another favorite memory from this year’s mission trip was attending a youth service. there were only 10 students in attendance…and the leader was noticably nervous. but all the students were listening…no cell phones. no distractions. just focusing on the message. once again, it was a clear demonstration of “Inspiring Hope, Cultivating Potential, Making a Difference” in the younger generation!

One of my favorite memories from this year‘s mission trip was sitting behind this little girl at church as she tried to mirror the dance moves of the teenagers leading worship. So cool to see the church “Inspiring Hope, Cultivating Potential, Making a Difference” in the younger generation! Little eyes are always watching! 🥹

643 times Jesus’s love was shared.

This was another record-breaking year, and we couldn’t do it without your prayers, support and encouragement! Thank you!!!!

The team will wrap up details today, visit the beach 🏝️ this afternoon, then Michael will speak at church there tomorrow before heading home Monday!

God is good. ❤️

Thank you The Oldham Era

Back in 2004, it was an eye-opening experience for Crestwood couple Michael and Beth Searcy to go on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic (D.R.) with their former church.
