Cucuyo Arts

Intercultural Exchange Through Art in the Dominican Republic / Intercambio cultural a través de las artes en la República Dominicana. Training in the Arts!

Cucuyo is:

Two-fold cultural understanding. The journey to understand the Dominican context naturally leads to a deeper understanding of one’s own culture and sense of place. Good for the mind, good for the soul. Practical life skills. We learn group collaboration, public speaking, and self-motivation. Good for functioning in society. Español. Everyone improves their Spanish because it’s impossible not to! Loving year-round planning. All of the planning that goes into Cucuyo during the the year is the soul labor of an impassioned staff and board who work without any monetary compensation. Careful on-site preparation. Our leaders arrive before participants, ensuring smooth transition into a hoppin’ program environment.
