Are you creative, visual, or detail-oriented, and curious about becoming more confident?

🌟 Member Spotlight: Sebastian Kaiser 🌟

Meet Sebastian, who has contributed to Speak to Lead as Toastmaster of the Evening in 2026, Timer, Grammarian, and Speaker.

Sebastian brings creativity, attention to detail, and a strong sense of togetherness to the club. His roles help make our meetings sharper, warmer, and more engaging. His journey shows how Toastmasters can support people who are still exploring their voice. Confidence does not have to arrive all at once. It can be built role by role.

“Speak to Lead has helped me explore communication from a new angle. As someone with a creative background, I enjoy exploring how timing, language, structure, and presence shape how a message is received. Through roles such as Timer, Grammarian, Speaker, and Toastmaster of the Evening, I have been able to build confidence in a supportive and encouraging environment. It has helped me connect creativity with clearer communication.”

Professionally, Sebastian is a Motion Designer. His work spans motion graphics, visual effects, compositing, digital design, photo editing, and creative production. His education includes media and communication studies, visual effects, multimedia art, and design — a strong foundation for storytelling through motion and visuals.

His contribution reflects the Toastmasters values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence: listening carefully, contributing creatively, and helping the club communicate with more awareness.

Guests are always welcome to attend our meetings free of charge.

Laughter will be mandatory.

We are serious about this.

🤣🤣🤣

On 17 June 2026, from 18:00–20:00, at Kulturstationen Vanløse, we’re hosting our Unofficial Humorous Club Contest: a fun, friendly evening where anyone can compete, everyone can laugh, and the only serious rule is not to take ourselves too seriously.

The meeting will include:

🏆 Humorous Speech Contest
🎲 Table Topics Contest
👏 Plenty of laughs, surprises, and supportive Toastmasters energy

Because this is an unofficial contest, all members are welcome to take part (sign up with contest chair Fabio Oliveira). The contest speaking order will be decided on the day by drawing lots, so expect a little suspense before the fun begins.

Come join us for an evening of courage, creativity, quick thinking, and comedy at Speak to Lead Toastmasters. Guests welcome to show up, even more welcome with a friend. Only 10 minutes by metro from Nørreport (no excuse to not show up 😅).

Let’s speak. Let’s lead. Let’s laugh. 😄

✨ From anecdote to arc — what an evening at Speak to Lead Toastmasters!

On 10 June 2026, we had the pleasure of hosting a powerful storytelling workshop led by Andreas Møgelhøj: “Stop Talking. Start Writing: From Anecdote to Arc.”

The session challenged us to rethink what makes a story truly land. Not just what happened, but why it mattered. Not just the outer journey, Plot A, but the inner transformation, Plot B.

Through fast-paced exercises, partner conversations, and writing sprints, we explored how to:

📝 Find the real point behind a personal story
⚡ Identify the “5-second moment” where change happens
🎁 Extract the “gift”: the one memorable sentence for the audience
🎤 Turn raw experience into a meaningful narrative arc

One of the strongest takeaways of the evening was this: The world doesn’t care if you fail. It cares if you change.

A big thank you to Andreas for leading such an energetic and practical workshop, to Ai-Cheng Foo Nielsen for opening and closing the meeting, to Anurag Kumar for supporting as timekeeper and filming (😉), and to everyone who participated so openly.

We were also happy to welcome returning guest Kenneth and new guest Søren. Great to have you with us!

At Speak to Lead Toastmasters, we don’t just practice public speaking. We practice turning experience into connection. Open to guests and their friends showing up. Only 10 minutes from Nørreport by metro.

Next meeting: 17 June 2026, 18:00, Kulturstationen Vanløse, our unofficial humorous contest. Laughter will be mandatory. 😄

Do you care about ideas, community, and helping important messages reach the right people?

🌟 Member Spotlight: Shaista Afzal 🌟

Meet Shaista: speaker, area contest organiser, former Club Secretary at Speak to Lead, and PR Lead in the District 95 Team. Shaista’s core strength is communication in the service of the community. She helps create the conditions for others to participate, be seen, and grow, both inside the club and across the wider Toastmasters network.

Her contribution reflects the Toastmasters values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence: organising with care, representing others responsibly, and helping important work gain visibility.

“Toastmasters has given me a place to develop my voice while also contributing to something larger than myself. Speaking is one part of the journey, but organising contests, serving on a board, and working with the district have shown me how communication can strengthen a whole community. I value the combination of personal growth and service. At Speak to Lead and beyond, I have seen how people flourish when they are encouraged, included, and given meaningful opportunities to contribute.”

Professionally, Shaista has worked across several companies, including Big Four. She holds a master’s degree in law from the University of Copenhagen. Her professional background reflects experience in settings where clarity, trust, and responsibility matter.

Speak to Lead is a club for people who want to grow their voice, contribute to a community, and practise leadership in ways that reach beyond the stage.

Guests are always welcome to attend our meetings free of charge.

Workshop Masterclass - because it is!
“Stop Talking. Start Writing: From Anecdote to Arc”

Why do some stories stay with us, while others fall flat?

Often, it is because we tell them from the outside in. We describe what happened, but lose the deeper transformation that makes people care.

On Wednesday, June 10, at 18:00, we are hosting an interactive storytelling workshop at Kulturstationen Vanløse with Andreas Møgelhøj, Ph.D.

Andreas has strong contest experience in both Evaluation and Table Topics, including repeated District Champion!

In this 2-hour, hands-on workshop, we will move beyond storytelling theory and actively build the narrative spine of our own stories.

You will work on:

✨ Finding your “Plot B” — the inner journey behind the outer events
✨ Identifying your “5-second moment” — the exact point of change
✨ Extracting “the gift” — the message your audience will remember
✨ Turning a rough idea into a story arc through fast writing sprints

Important for everyone attending:

👉 Please come prepared with a story you want to work on.

It does not need to be polished. It can be a rough idea, a personal experience, a draft speech, or a project you want to improve. The key is that you bring something specific, because we will be working directly on your own stories throughout the workshop.

The goal is simple: that everyone leaves with a solid foundation for delivering a powerful “story speech” in the future.

Bring your laptop, bring your story, and come ready to write.

The world doesn’t care if you fail. It cares if you change.

🙋 Stop talking. Start writing. Show up. Bring your Story.

Are you building your career and know that communication confidence is part of the next step?

🌟 Member Spotlight: Md Raqibul Hasan 🌟

Raqibul, our former Club Secretary, is a frequent speaker, Best Speaker recipient, and Toastmaster of the Evening in 2026.

Raqibul brings commitment, reliability, and a strong growth mindset to Speak to Lead. He contributes both behind the scenes and on stage. His journey shows that leadership is built step by step. By saying yes to speeches, roles, and club service, he continues to strengthen both his confidence and his contributions.

“Speak to Lead has helped me grow by giving me opportunities to say yes before I felt fully ready. Through speeches, meeting roles, and serving as Club Secretary, I have become more confident in expressing myself and supporting others. Toastmasters has shown me that progress happens step by step, especially when you are surrounded by people who encourage you to keep going. It has helped me practise communication in a way that supports both my personal growth and my professional development.”

Curious to see how we run (at) a Speak to Lead Toastmasters meeting? 🏃‍♂️
Energy was definitely in the room on Wednesday. ⚡🎤

At our latest Speak to Lead Toastmasters meeting led by Anurag Kumar, we explored the theme 'Move Your Body, Move Your Mind' with the Word of the Day: 'revitalise'. ✨

And that is exactly what the evening did: it brought movement, presence, confidence, and connection into the room. 🫶

We heard:
✨ Shais Mosanefi speak on “Philosophy of Change”
✨ Alejandra Rojas remind us that “The ordinary is often the greatest gift”
✨ Table Topics with spontaneous speaking led by Vlad Manea
✨ Evaluations and meeting roles that helped everyone learn
✨ A lively meeting guided by Anurag Kumar as Toastmaster

A warm welcome to our first-time guests, Manuel and Hugo from Portugal — thank you for joining us! 🇵🇹

And to the winner of the evening: Ievgen Boturchuk for the best Table Topics Speech with lots of movement! 🌟

This is what Toastmasters is about. Not perfect speeches. Not polished performances. But a safe room where people practice, receive feedback, experiment, and leave a little more confident than when they arrived. 💪

📌 Important note for members: Our next meeting is our Annual General Meeting, where the new board will be elected. Kindly book your attendance on easySPEAK if you haven't done so. 🖐️

📅 June 3rd, 18:00-20:00
📍 Kulturstationen Vanløse

That’s only 10 minutes from Nørreport by metro. 🚇

New to Toastmasters? Simply drop by. No preparation needed. No pressure to speak. Just come, observe, and see if it feels like a place for you. ✨

Come alone, bring a friend, or bring someone who keeps saying they “should probably get better at public speaking someday.” 😉

Thank you to everyone involved: president Ai-Cheng Foo Nielsen, toastmaster Anurag Kumar, speaker Shais Mosanefi, speaker Alejandra Rojas, table topics master Vlad Manea, evaluator Bugra, evaluator Norkka Mirella, ah-counter sebastian kaiser, grammarian Sarah Tómorí Oyebo, general evaluator Amir Molavi, timer Budi, and photographer Julliette E.
