Next Stage : Your Stage er et initiativ der henvender sig til de håbefulde musikere i vækstlaget, som drømmer om at skifte øvelokalet ud med scenen, men som mangler inspiration til at komme videre til det næste stadie i deres karriere. Are you and your band having trouble getting out of the rehearsal room, and finding your way on to the stage? Come to this year’s festival and learn more about what
to do. During Roskilde Festival 2013 you can experience NEXT STAGE : YOUR STAGE and get a rare peek into the booking process at the festival and find out how the bands you’ve never heard of get recognized. It’s hard work and takes knowledge - we can at least give you the knowledge. There will be a line-up of exciting speakers, including one of Roskilde Festival’s bookers, who is booking for the upcoming stage Pavilion Junior. Also, we will have two blog editors, who will talk about how they discover the music, that most of us still don’t know about. A label manager from one of Copenhagen’s hippest record labels will provide insight about do’s and don’ts, when you have a demo and are trying to kick in the door. We have also invited a true DIY musician, who can tell a lot of stories about, how you don’t need fight the gatekeepers of the industry, if only you have the courage to do the work yourself. Roskilde Festival BACKSTAGE is a platform for networking and sharing of knowledge, traditionally for professionals in the music industry, but this year we also aim to include the people in front of the stage - the audience. Our new initiative under this umbrella is of course called Frontstage, within which we have the seminar Next Stage : Your Stage. This is aimed at aspiring musicians, who dream about replacing the canvas of their camping pavilion with the canvas of the Pavilion Junior stage, but who need the inspiration to move on to the next stage of their careers. It will be an inspiring day with plenty of opportunities to learn some tricks and, not least, ask the interesting speakers a lot of questions. The seminar is of course FREE for all festival guests and will be held in English.
