WHAT IS WITAN?
Originally started in 1959 by the predecessors to SSAGO, Witans originally invited Student Scouts and Guides from across the globe to a single host country to gather and exchange culture. In the 1990s, this format of Witan declined in attendees and eventually folded, but in 2012, a new style of Witan was introduced, primarily being an opportunity for UK SSAGO members to take a trip abroad together.
