Who supports successful reintegration? RESIZE has the answer.

Every day, thousands of professionals across Europe work to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of people who have been sentenced. Yet these professionals often come from very different sectors, roles, and educational backgrounds, with no common framework to recognise and develop the competencies needed for this important work.

The RESIZE Framework was created to change that.

Developed within the RESIZE project, the framework helps identify and map the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed by professionals working across the correctional and rehabilitation ecosystem. It provides a shared foundation for learning, professional development, recognition of prior experience, and future career pathways.

Who is it for?

👮 Prison and correctional staff
⚖️ Probation and justice professionals
🧠 Psychologists and rehabilitation specialists
📚 Educators and VET trainers
🤝 Social workers and community practitioners
🏢 NGOs supporting reintegration and social inclusion
🌱 Volunteers and peer mentors
🎓 Future professionals entering the sector

How does it help?

✅ Defines the competencies needed to support successful rehabilitation and reintegration
✅ Supports professional recognition and lifelong learning
✅ Creates clearer pathways for upskilling and career development
✅ Bridges gaps between correctional, educational, social, and community services
✅ Contributes to more human-centred, rehabilitative, and community-integrated justice systems

The RESIZE Framework recognises that successful reintegration is not the responsibility of one profession alone—it requires collaboration across an entire ecosystem of practitioners working towards a common goal.

BrainLog was delighted to take part in the second Transnational Project Meeting of the Erasmus+ project “Brain- Students First, AI Second” (2025-1-ES01-KA220-SCH-000358138), hosted by Atatürk Secondary School in Kocaeli, Türkiye.

With BrAIn, we aim to strengthen AI literacy while keeping the focus on essential human skills for students, teachers, and families.

This meeting was much more than a project gathering. It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with our partners, share experiences, reflect on the progress achieved so far, and continue building the strong cooperation that lies at the heart of the BrAIn project.

The meeting brought together partners from Türkiye, Spain, Bulgaria, and Denmark. Denmark was represented by the Danish partners BrainLog and UCL Erhvervsakademi og Professionshøjskole.

During the sessions, partners focused on the work completed under Result 2 (SkillQuest Framework), including the classroom implementation activities carried out by the partner institutions. Through open and meaningful discussions, we exchanged pedagogical experiences, reflected on implementation outcomes, and jointly identified the five most important soft skills that will guide the next stages of the project and its future outputs.

The meeting was highly productive thanks to the active contribution, commitment, and collaboration of all project partners. Together, we discussed the upcoming work packages, shared responsibilities, implementation timelines, dissemination activities, and ideas for ensuring the long-term sustainability of the project results.

We are especially grateful to our hosts, Atatürk Secondary School, for their warm welcome, generous hospitality, and excellent organization. Thanks to them, we had a truly wonderful time in Kocaeli, both professionally and personally.

The meeting was concluded in a very positive, constructive, and inspiring atmosphere, once again reminding us of the value of international cooperation and shared educational goals. BrainLog is proud to be part of a project that places students first and explores how artificial intelligence can be used in education in a meaningful, responsible, and human-centred way.

We look forward to the next steps of the BrAIn project and to continuing this exciting journey with our partners.

The Brain- Students First, AI Second project continues its journey, and BrainLog is excited to join the upcoming Transnational Project Meeting in Turkey 🇹🇷, where we will be warmly welcomed by our Turkish partners, Mersin Valiliği and Atatürk Ortaokulu.

With BrAIn, we aim to strengthen AI literacy while keeping the focus on essential human skills for students, teachers, and families.

The project consortium combines expertise from Carlos V School (Spain), Grupo DSG Consultores (Spain), BrainLog (Denmark), UCL Erhvervsakademi og Professionshøjskole (Denmark), Know and Can (Bulgaria), Hristo Smirnenski Primary School (Bulgaria), Mersin Valiliği (Türkiye), and Atatürk Ortaokulu (Türkiye).

We are now reaching an important milestone, as we are finalising Result 1- SkillQuest Framework. After extensive work with schools in each partner country, we are now bringing together all national findings. The goal is to identify the five key skills most impacted by AI, based on real educational experiences across Europe.

This marks a key transition point in the project. We are now preparing to move forward to Result 2- Teachers' Handbook, which will focus on transforming these identified skills into practical tools, learning resources, and educational approaches that can be applied in real classroom settings.

During our meeting in Turkey, we will:
🔹 Finalise and validate the results from all partner countries
🔹 Identify and agree on the final 5 key skills
🔹 Plan the development of Result 2
🔹 Define the next milestones and responsibilities across the consortium

This meeting is not only about progress; it is also about strengthening collaboration, aligning our vision, and continuing to build meaningful impact together.

We are looking forward to productive discussions and the next exciting phase of the BrAIn project. 🚀

Promote Project moves forward as our e-learning platform begins to take shape.

As part of the consortium’s ongoing collaborative work, important elements of the platform are already being developed, marking an exciting step in the project’s progress.

The PROMOTE e-learning platform is a central part of the project, designed to provide accessible and high-quality training for professionals working within the correctional justice system.

It will bring together interactive courses, virtual simulations, and practical resources aimed at strengthening skills and supporting continuous professional development across the sector.

Through the joint efforts of the consortium, the platform is gradually taking form as a flexible and user-friendly learning environment that will help practitioners further develop their competencies and contribute to the reintegration of incarcerated individuals.

Although the platform is still under development, this stage reflects important progress and the strong cooperation, dedication, and expertise of the Promote Project partners. The next phase will focus on continuing to build and refine both the content and the functionality.

We are excited to see this important project result continue to grow and look forward to sharing more updates along the way.

The consortium continues to make strong progress in the development of our e-learning platform (WP3), with important elements already taking shape.

Promote Project – Promoting Integrated Professional Development for Prison Practitioners in Vocational Excellence for Offender Reintegration – is a Project, meaning a Centre of Vocational Excellence project. In simple terms, CoVE projects bring together organisations that work across education, training, and practice to develop high-quality, innovative, and relevant vocational learning approaches with strong real-world impact. In Promote Project, this means working together to strengthen the professional development of prison practitioners and support offender reintegration.

As a key part of the project and , the platform is being developed to provide accessible, high-quality training for professionals working within the correctional justice system. It will bring together interactive courses, virtual simulations, and practical resources aimed at strengthening skills and supporting continuous professional development.

One of the elements already developed in draft form is a virtual simulation, which can now be explored as part of the platform’s ongoing development. This marks an exciting step forward and reflects the joint efforts, expertise, and commitment of the consortium in creating an engaging and practice-oriented digital learning environment.

We recognise that correctional systems across operate within different legal, procedural, and institutional frameworks, and that practices may vary not only from country to country but also between individual institutions. In line with ’s ambition, the purpose of the simulations is, therefore, not to replicate every national setting in identical detail but to provide realistic, adaptable, and pedagogically robust learning experiences that strengthen professional judgement, encourage reflection, and support competence development across diverse correctional contexts.

Our shared ambition is to develop a flexible and user-friendly platform that contributes to vocational excellence by supporting the continuous upskilling and reskilling of prison practitioners, strengthening the quality and relevance of professional training, and ultimately contributing to more effective reintegration-oriented practice across the correctional justice system.
While the platform is still under development, this progress highlights the steady advancement of the Promote Project and the collaborative work behind it. The next phase will focus on continuing to refine and expand both the content and the functionality of the platform.

Today, BrainLog had the pleasure of participating in the webinar “Digital Gaps, Digital Solutions for Education in Challenging Environments”, hosted by the European Digital Education Hub — an EU flagship initiative under the European Commission’s Digital Education Action Plan, which brings together policy, research, and practice to support innovation and cooperation in digital education across Europe and beyond.

The webinar offered important reflections on how education can continue and evolve even in the most difficult circumstances. A particularly powerful part of the discussion focused on Ukraine, where the war has deeply affected education systems, daily life, and access to learning. At the same time, these challenges have also accelerated digital transformation, showing how digital tools and innovative approaches can help maintain access to education, strengthen resilience, and create new possibilities for learning even in times of crisis.

This transformation is not only about technology itself, but about its wider benefits: greater flexibility, wider access to knowledge, stronger inclusion, and the possibility to support learners and professionals even when traditional systems are disrupted. It is a reminder that digitalization, when used meaningfully, can help build stronger and more future-oriented educational environments.

The session was a valuable opportunity to reflect on how digitalization and innovation can help make education more accessible, inclusive, and responsive, especially in complex and challenging environments. A particularly important part of the webinar was the presentation of the project and its Digital Interactive Map.

is a European project focused on strengthening skills development and improving learning opportunities within correctional environments across Europe. One of its key contributions is the Interactive Map, a practical digital tool that allows users to explore different countries individually and better understand their correctional systems, existing competencies, and training realities. This makes the map especially valuable for professionals, educators, researchers, and project developers, as it brings together knowledge in an accessible and engaging way and supports comparison, exchange of practices, and informed cooperation across countries.

At BrainLog, we see a strong connection between these discussions and our work in both the and Promote Project. Through these initiatives, we contribute to innovation, professional development, and improved learning opportunities within the justice system. In a field where education, rehabilitation, staff capacity, and inclusion are all essential, digital tools and modern learning approaches can play an important role in creating more responsive, accessible, and sustainable systems.

The experience of Ukraine also reminds us that even in times of crisis, education and innovation can become drivers of resilience and positive change. This message strongly resonates with our work. Through and Promote Project, we support the development of a better future in the justice sector, one where skills, knowledge, digital solutions, and international cooperation help create stronger professionals, stronger institutions, and ultimately more inclusive and resilient societies.

A big thank you to the organizers for such an insightful and inspiring webinar.
