What does it mean to build something from the ground up? 💭

In our latest Shortreads piece, we spoke with Amber, Head of Product and Data at Thylander, about her journey from Singapore to Denmark and what it’s like to help shape the digital foundations of a growing real estate company.

Rather than simply maintaining existing systems, Amber shares what it means to build new ones, learn an entirely new industry, and work in an environment where ideas are encouraged and ownership comes early.

It’s an honest reflection on career transitions, continuous learning, and how meaningful work often comes from helping shape what’s next.

A big thank you to Signe Horn Rosted, CTO of Energinet, for joining us at Late Lecture ✨

The talk gave a fascinating look into how Denmark’s energy infrastructure works behind the scenes and the challenges of preparing it for the future.

From the green transition and increasing energy demands to resilience, preparedness, and security, the session highlighted how much goes into keeping critical infrastructure running reliably every day.

One particularly interesting takeaway was the idea that much of our energy grid was built in peacetime, but today must be prepared to operate in a much more uncertain world.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the discussion and Q&A. We hope to see you at the next Late Lecture!

⚡ What happens when the green transition meets cyber threats?

Europe is electrifying. Hydrogen networks are expanding. Critical infrastructure is becoming increasingly digital.

At the same time, cyberattacks, sabotage, and hybrid threats are no longer theoretical risks—they are real challenges facing energy systems across Europe.

Join us for a Late Lecture with Signe Horn Rosted, CTO of Energinet, and hear how Denmark is building and protecting the infrastructure that powers society.

Topics include:

⚡ Electricity, gas & hydrogen infrastructure
🔐 Cybersecurity & critical infrastructure
🌱 The green transition
🛡️ Resilience, preparedness & security

What does it actually look like when theory starts to feel real?🤔

In our latest Shortreads piece, we spoke with Marie and Freja about working at Thylander while studying at DTU, and what changes when classroom knowledge begins to show up in real decisions, real projects, and real teams🏗️📚

What stood out wasn’t just the work itself, but the shift in perspective. How a profession starts to feel tangible long before graduation: through trust, learning by doing, and being in environments where your contribution is taken seriously💡

If you’re a student trying to picture the step from university to working life, this one’s worth a read!
