Krust'n'Rust merrily wanders the streets of Copenhagen, filling the sky with smoke, the bellies with sustainable veggie burgers, and blowing minds year after year with a spectacle that severely challenges people's capacity for wonder. Have you ever seen a group of oddly-dressed freaks, coverde in smoke, flipping vegan burgers on a burning bicycle with enormous brightly coloured wheels parked on st
reet corners or casual venues all across Copenhagen? We're a mobile kitchen making vegan burgers against donations in order to raise money to keep the activities of the Floating City going. We're determined to bring sustainable street food and crooked entertainment to the people of Copenhagen. The Floating City is a volunteer based organization, doing a wide spectrum of inventive projects, with a focus on recycling and sustainability as the core vision. If you have some healthy interest regarding the project, and want to know what we're all about, please look into our facebookpage. The paddie is made out of a big variety of what the northern hemisphere has to offer. The selection might vary a bit, but usually it will include a cheerfull gathering of: peppers, mushrooms, potatoes, cauliflowers, brocollis, cabbages, carrots, onions, leeks, courgettes, all sliced up and mixed into one colourful mixture. Generously seasoned with garlic and spices, and patiently fried until it's crisp, golden-brown and very eager to join the fresh salad items, the homemade hot sauce and maybe a few drops of ketchup in between two warm buns. Carnivores will be jealous. The burgerbike is in itself quite a spectacle, like some prop that escaped a disturbing travelling carnival, travelling through times that can't be dated, through countries that can't really be placed on any maps. Rolling in from wonderland in order to spread it's little miracles. The bike is made entirely out of recycled materials, with massive waggon wheels, and a big barrel woodstove, where the food is prepared on a heating plate. All the wood we burn is discarded wood from the recycling station at Vasbygade. All work is carried out by volunteers, and all donations will go directly to keeping the Floating City afloat. We're always eager to contribute to the atmosphere, if you've got an event in Copenhagen with a sustainable profile that's in need of some colours, we'd love to roll the old bike towards your part of town, light the fire, grease up the pan, and get frying. We're also interested in out of town events, but since our logistical possibilities are limited, we prioritize the capital, however we'd love to do some festivals out of town.
