The Concept :
The idea behind World Peace Festival, is creating a large one-day charity-concert. The purpose is of course raising money for the support of refugees all around the world. To give you a better idea of what we imagine in terms of size and scope , we want to create an event, much alike the LIVE-AID events. Rather than supporting victims of hunger, however, the donations from “World P
eace Festival“, will be forwarded through charitable organisations for the aid of the refugees. From event to event we will choose the specific organisations based on the specific cause we want to support with our events. World Peace Festival asks of artists that they perform for free. We also encourage suppliers, collaborators and supporters in general to support our festival through donations, substantial help, significant discounts or through other possible means. Ultimately, the goal is releasing the maximum amounts for the chairitable aid-organisations for the support of the refugees. The Concert / Event itself:
We hope to be able to gather the widest possible amount of visitors in a park called “Fælledparken”, which is located in Copenhagen, Denmark.
“Fælledparken” (which means the “Park of Commons”) has a history of political assembly. It is a beautiful place as well as centrally located in the middle of Copenhagen. The location itself is easily accessible for as well Danish as international visitors. The airport is less than 30 minutes away by means of train, metro and busses. This is also part of why we hope and believe that the total visitor amount will exceed 60.000 people. The artists are not yet verified, but we will be displaying information on each of them as they confirm our event. Overall, we expect to display a total of 10 huge international artists for the event, each performing for approx. 35-45 minutes. During January and February 2014 we will attempt to reach our primary wishlist of performers with the hope that they will have the heart to support the cause.
