On Saturday, January 18, 2025, You(th) Develop Denmark hosted a tree planting and nature conservation event in Græse (Græse Bygade 25, near the church parking lot) - collaborated with who have forest and lowland projects across Denmark. Both benefit the climate by storing CO2. This family-friendly event aimed to promote environmental awareness and contribute to nature preservation efforts as part of the Guardians of Green: Preserving Nature by Preventing Forest Fires initiative.

As part of the project’s activities, the first 75 trees were planted, marking the beginning of what will become . This milestone represents a significant step in our commitment to protecting nature, and we are incredibly proud of this achievement.

Let’s go down the memory lane and go through the amazing week we spent in Store Heddinge, Denmark!

From 27 October - 4 November, an incredible group of participants from Denmark, Greece, Italy, North Macedonia, Portugal, Spain, Romania and Turkey attended the Erasmus+ Training Course “Guardians of Green: Preserving Nature by Preventing Forest Fires”.
The overall aim of this project is to empower youth workers with knowledge and tools for educating young people about forest fire prevention and the broader impacts of climate change on predictable disasters.

We kicked off the week with “getting to know each other” activities, ice-breakers and team building games. One of these activities was building bridges from scratch, using natural materials, in order to find innovative solutions and enhance connections between participants. Moreover, they engaged in fruitful conversations, shared their expectations, contributions and fears related to this project.

🌍 Urgent Call for Participants from Denmark 🇩🇰

We are looking for 3 motivated participants to join our Erasmus+ project focused on climate change and forest fire prevention!

🗓 Dates: 27 October - 04 November 2024 (including travel days)
📍 Location: Store Heddinge, Denmark
👥 Participants: 3 from Denmark

Aim of the Project:
This project aims to empower youth workers with tools and knowledge to:

Educate young people about forest fire prevention.
Raise awareness of climate change's broader impact on disasters.
Foster environmental responsibility and disaster resilience among youth.
Deepen understanding of forest ecosystems and fire dynamics.
The program will feature interactive workshops, field activities, and hands-on experiences. Participants will also collaborate using tools like MapMyTree to create a long-lasting network and share best practices.
