I dag på Verdens humanitære dag anerkender vi de humanitære hjælpearbejdere, som hjælper mennesker ramt af kriser, ofte med stor personlig risiko. De fortjener beskyttelse og støtte.

I 2025 hjalp IOM 17,8 millioner mennesker, der var berørt af kriser og fordrivelse, i 170 lande og territorier.

At beskytte hjælpearbejdere betyder at beskytte de mennesker, de hjælper.

Today on World Humanitarian Day, we recognise the humanitarian workers who help people in crises, often at great personal risk. They deserve protection and support.

In 2025, IOM assisted 17.8 million people affected by crises and displacement across 170 countries and territories.

Protecting humanitarian workers means protecting the people they serve.

Husly er mere end et tag over hovedet. Det er tryghed, stabilitet og fundamentet for genopretning.

Med et sikkert sted at bo kan familier få adgang til sundhedsydelser, børn vende tilbage til skolen og mennesker kan begynde at genopbygge deres levebrød og genskabe forbindelsen til deres lokalsamfund.

With a safe place to stay, children can return to school, families can access healthcare, and people can begin rebuilding livelihoods and reconnecting with their communities.

I Moussoro i Tchad er regntiden allerede begyndt, og hvert ophold i regnen bliver brugt på forberedelse.

Mellem skybruddene er medlemmer af de lokale katastrofeberedskabskomitéer i gang med at fylde sandsække og forstærke de områder, der er mest udsatte for oversvømmelse.

Med støtte fra The International Organization for Migration- CHAD har komitéerne for nylig fået træning i risikoidentifikation, tidlige varslingssystemer og organisering af den første indsats i tilfælde af en katastrofe. De har også modtaget udstyr til håndtering af oversvømmelser, så de hurtigt kan reagere, når kraftig regn truer deres lokalområder.

I tæt samarbejde med lokale myndigheder og offentlige tekniske enheder udgør disse frivillige den første forsvarslinje mod oversvømmelser. Deres indsats er med til at beskytte hjem, lokal infrastruktur og befolkningens levebrød.

Aktiviteten gennemføres under CCMD-programmet, finansieret af Udenrigsministeriet.

In Moussoro, Chad, the rains have already arrived, and every break in the weather is used to prepare.

Between downpours, members of the community disaster management committees are filling sandbags and reinforcing the areas most vulnerable to flooding.

Supported by The International Organization for Migration- CHAD, these committees were recently trained in risk identification, early warning systems, and the organisation of first response efforts in the event of a disaster. They also received flood response kits, enabling them to act quickly when heavy rains threaten their neighbourhoods.

Working alongside local authorities and government technical services, these volunteers form the first line of response to flooding. Their efforts help protect homes, community infrastructure, and the livelihoods of local populations.

This activity is being implemented under the CCMD programme, funded by the Udenrigsministeriet.

Hvad sker der, når unge får mulighed for at gå forrest i arbejdet med klima og migration?

På denne Internationale Ungdomsdag fejrer vi dimittenderne fra IOM's program Accelerating Youth-Led Action in Addressing Climate Mobility in Africa, finansieret af Udenrigsministeriet , som omsætter idéer til handling og skaber konkrete løsninger på klimamobilitet på tværs af Afrika.

Deres historier er en stærk påmindelse om, at unge ikke blot reagerer på klimaudfordringerne, men også er med til at forme løsningerne.

This International Youth Day, we celebrate the graduates of IOM's Accelerating Youth-Led Action in Addressing Climate Mobility in Africa programme, funded by Udenrigsministeriet, transforming ideas into action on climate mobility across Africa.

Their stories are a powerful reminder that young people are not only responding to climate challenges, they are helping shape the solutions.

Præcis og menneskecentreret journalistik ændrer den måde, vi ser migration på.

Den 28. juli deltog The International Organization for Migration- CHAD i N'Djamena i prisuddelingen Excellence Awards, som anerkender de bedste journalistiske produktioner om migration i relation til klimaforandringer og arbejdsmarkedsdynamikker. Vinderen i hver kategori bidrager til at belyse menneskers historier og virkelighed på en præcis, retfærdig og værdig måde.

Dette initiativ blev støttet gennem CCMD-programmet, finansieret af Udenrigsministeriet.

Accurate and human-centered journalism changes the way we view migration.

On 28 July, in N'Djamena, The International Organization for Migration- CHAD took part in the Excellence Awards ceremony recognising the best journalistic productions on migration related to climate change and labour market dynamics. The winner in each category sheds light on people's journeys and realities with accuracy, fairness, and dignity.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of meeting with the Novo Nordisk Foundationundation to discuss our ongoing collaboration and shared commitment to improving health outcomes for people on the move.

IOM Denmark’s Chief of Mission, Ragen Nair, thanked Rikke Johannessen, Director for Global Development at Novo Nordisk Foundation and her team for the insightful discussion and for their continued partnership.

We look forward to further strengthening our partnership on AI-assisted health screening for displaced populations, as climate change and rising temperatures continue to intensify, driving displacement and increasingly affecting health outcomes and mortality worldwide.

We explored how innovation, operational expertise, and evidence can come together to improve health services, support people on the move, and strengthen climate adaptation efforts.
