We are standing here today, because someone wanted a child but couldn't have their own.
We are standing here today, because someone thought they had the right to a child.
We are standing here today, because society told them, that they deserved a child. Even if that child was someone else’s.
We are standing here today, because someone had hundreds of thousands of kroner to purchase a child via middlemen in other countries.
We are standing here today, because some of the people who want a child are part of the LGBTQ+ community.
We are standing here today, asking you to stop trafficking children in order to fulfil your own dream of creating a nuclear family.
A nuclear family that appears q***r but isn’t.
A nuclear family that appears anti-racist but isn’t.
A nuclear family that teaches children to be grateful for being bought and sold.
A nuclear family that severs that child from its identity and history.
A child that will grow up unprotected from racism, even from those closest to them.
We are standing here today, to ask for solidarity. Again.
We are standing here today, to ask you to stop claiming rights, at the expense of someone else's rights.
We see how the child trafficking industries rely on demand, rather than supply, and are happy to violate human rights to feed the “West” and “Global North” with children.
We see how the adoption industry moves and evolves and becomes commercial donation and surrogacy. We see how the violations continue.
These industries that are unregulated and make billions of dollars worldwide.
Our own government recently passed a law that enables the use of commercial foreign surrogates.
The law does not protect these surrogates.
The law does not require these surrogates to be compensated fairly or even to be over the age of 18.
We now have the right to pay a child to carry our children.
We don't have to tell you, that family can be something different.
That family can be built in a non-capitalist, anti-racist, feminist, non-oppressive way.
But our politicians and society want to frame q***r adoption, the use of commercial s***m and egg donation, and commercial surrogacy, as progression. As inclusion and diversity.
How can this be progressive, when it is also oppressive?
So... We are standing here today, to ask you to reject the woke washing of adoption, commercial donation and surrogacy. It does not serve this community.
Don't be a tool for the white supremacy heteronormative capitalist patriarchy!
