Are you a parent or caregiver to a racialised child?

Civil Connections, in cooperation with BPoC, invites you to a free workshop focused on developing a shared language and practical tools for how we respond when children are affected by racism.

In the workshop, we will talk about:

Racist experiences we may have together with our children, or that our children may experience on their own
Patterns of reaction
Possible ways to act
Conversations with our children afterwards

In the workshop, we will create a safe(r) space to talk about a difficult topic, and together explore ways of handling and processing these experiences.

The workshop will include both presentations and exercises, with an invitation to active participation and shared reflections.

The project is supported by Vellivforeningen.

Last night, Civil Connections hosted a final evaluation meeting with participants from the Erasmus+ Youth For Earth Project that we have carried out in partnership with Polygonal.

Over the last year, this project has brought together passionate young people from Denmark and Italy who not only shared their concerns about the climate crisis and social challenges but also transformed these emotions into creative and community driven action. During this final meeting, participants reflected on what they’ve learned from being changemakers in their local communities. 💫

We’re so proud of the ideas, connections and hope that emerged through this project. A huge thank you to everyone who participated, supported, and believed in Youth For Earth! 🌱🌍

Tilmelding:

What’s happening in our Youth4Earth (Y4E) project? So much! Our young changemakers in Denmark and Italy are continuing to develop and implement their sustainable microprojects in their communities, following two supporting workshops in Denmark and Italy.

One standout initiative is TOUR DE GREEN, a free, self-guided sustainable walking tour in Copenhagen created by the Danish youth. It highlights local eco-initiatives and climate-friendly spots around the city - perfect for both visitors and locals. Follow this link to explore it! https://sites.google.com/view/tourdegreen/home?authuser=0

Other inspiring micro-projects include: After-school social activities at FGU Nord, Denmark, boosting student well‑being and school community, and a beach clean‑up event in Cori, Italy, raising awareness about marine pollution and community action!

Readers, we highly encourage you to take a look at the projects that they are unfolding, and follow along their journey here on our website and social media.

We’re happy to share the result of our work over the past year — The Diversity Toolbox — created to spark conversations between colleagues and with youth about bias, privileges, and how our different experiences shape the way we see the world.

Developed and tested together with practitioners and young people, it offers practical activities for intercultural dialogue, antiracism, and inclusion in everyday work. It empowers educators, social workers, and volunteers to foster meaningful cultural dialogue, challenge internal biases, and build inclusive institutions.

The toolbox is a living resource and part of an ongoing journey — we warmly welcome your feedback, ideas for new activities, and stories about how you use it.

📢 Please share it in your networks with teachers, pedagogues, social workers, and others working with children and youth.

📦 We have a few printed copies available for free — write to [email protected] and let us know in what context you’ll be using it.

🇩🇰 A Danish version will be ready in the coming months — sign up for our newsletter to get updates! https://civilconnections.org/become-a-member/

Thanks to Puljen for the support.

Welcome to the Diversity Toolbox! What is the Diversity Toolbox?: The Diversity Toolbox is a set of consolidated exercises, tools, and strategies designed to unpack diversity and address the challenges of racism in work with youth.
