Materiale Centralen Materiale Centralen is a network linking resources, people and construction for local initiatives. Who we are?

Materiale Centralen is one of the projects of Guldminen Kbh municipality experiment. It is a service improving circularity and environmental awarness. Materiale Centralen is an NGO composed by environmental designers, sustainable architects, evironmental engineers, carpenters, visual artists, photographers and video makers. We are also a community, sharing the same values and view about sustainability and society. Our volunteers run organization spreads and shapes the culture of Up-cycling and eco-desig. Materiale Centralen is a network that links resources, people and construction.

In the memory of the upcycler Blagovesta Ivanova.
R.I.P.
Materiale Centralen started in 2015 as platform to link unwanted materials from recycling centers to the public as a form of environmental activism.
From 2017 Materiale Centralen shifted into a collaborative design collective project and a skills sharing platform
by organizing many upcycling workshops/events or attending festivals, always active in cultural spaces and communities with the mission of spreading awareness around the incredible amount of urban daily waste of valuable materials.
Thanks to the international community of volunteers, designers, activists and dreamers, a lot has been done and now all the ideas worth spreading are still on their way... Blagovesta has been one of the most precious volunteers contributing to the project with her time and creativity.
Thank you dear BLAGO 🌻 for helping our collective and community planting seeds for the sustainable future that we still strive to create.

Over The years Materiale Centralen had many volunteers from all over Europe, Latin America, the U.S., and Australia. One of our more committed volunteers from 2018 to 2020 was Blagovesta Ivanova, our little dynamite from Bulgaria able to make wonders out of unwanted textiles into extravagant upcycled clothing and interesting prototypes.
In this video, we have one of the sweetest and funniest memories of her, when she just got started volunteering in Guldminen with Materiale Centralen for events of environmental interest and social purposes.
Blagovesta helped out a lot during our shifting period from Guldminen in ARC Genbrugsstation in Sydhavn to Valby, in KraftWerket and Valby Kulturhus / CPH FAB LAB for the creation of our next office and workshop space.
