History time - Blast from the Past!
On April 11, 2009 (17 years ago!!!), a local fighting game event took place on the outskirts of Copenhagen.
12 people showed up and competed in a 3-hour double-elimination tournament in Street Fighter 4. The rest of the day they spent playing casuals in older fighting games.
Two months later, on June 6, 2009, they got back together and hosted another event, this time naming it Headstomper. The very first tournament in our series!
A lot has changed since then, and none of the original crew are part of the Headstomper staff today (besides one who joined in 2010), alongside a few other old heads and, of course, many new (and younger) TOs.
We’re excited to see you all again in November 2026 for the next Headstomper, 17 years after the very first event.
