Very exciting update from Fulbrighter Emily Nguyen, who is at the EU-NATO seminar in Luxembourg right now:
"I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to represent Denmark at this year’s Fulbright EU-NATO Seminar. I’ve learned so much and have met so many lovely Fulbrighters!
On Tuesday, I arrived in Luxembourg, where we visited the US Ambassador to Luxembourg’s house and Dr. Sheridan from American University Brussels provided an introduction to the European Union. Then, we had a surprise guest: the newly-elected Prime Minister of Luxembourg! He was also a Fulbrighter, and made the time to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Fulbright in Belgium and Luxembourg.
On Wednesday, we had the chance to visit the European Court of Justice, where we listened in on a live hearing of a case. Then, we had a private talk with Koen Lenaerts, the President of the Court of Justice. After, we headed to Brussels, where on Thursday we explored more about the inner workings of the European Commission and toured the European Parliament. Today, I am excited to visit the NATO headquarters!
I have truly enjoyed my time at the EU-NATO Seminar, and it has been incredibly informative to learn more about both the European Union and NATO, and the role the United States plays in them. I am inspired by the perspectives that all of the Fulbrighters from so many different countries and subject areas bring to the EU-NATO Seminar. I know I will be bringing all of the knowledge and insight I gained from this seminar back to both Denmark and the United States!"
