Wrap up from an inspiring 5-day from the Diaspora Programme with Afghan Diaspora: “Professional Development Course on Evidence-Based Advocacy for the Afghan Diaspora.” ✊👏
26 Afghan along with guest speakers from the UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, DEMAC - Diaspora Emergency Action & Coordination, the Danish ambassador to Afghanistan and many others, joined together to strengthen their capacity and expertise on the processes and challenges in advocating for Afghanistan.
The interdisciplinary workshop covered topics of identity politics and international human rights law as well as provided practical advocacy tools such as mapping of stakeholders and innovative tips for harnessing the power of social media.
It was a great opportunity for civil society actors outside of Afghanistan to strengthen their links and learn from one another how best to advocate for Afghanistan. A strong reminder of the power of in situations of humanitarian emergency.
