Human Library Organization

Human Library Organization We publish people as Open Books. We publish people like open books on a given topic. Our readers ask questions and get answers from their "book".

The Human Library Organization is an international NGO working to build spaces in the community for personal dialogue about issues that are often difficult, challenging and stigmatizing. We and our local partners deliver events in civil society through libraries, universities, festivals, high schools, colleges, conferences and social happenings. Currently the Human Library has been presented in mo

re than 80 countries worldwide. We also offer partnering opportunities for companies and organizations looking to improve their work with diversity, inclusion, and well-being in the workplace, and aims to ultimately support the effectiveness and agility of the organization. The Human Library is a place where difficult questions are expected, appreciated and answered.

Popular Danish comedian Melvin Kakooza is featuring the Human Library on TV2 tonight.

Perhaps this can be the end of Danes writing on SoMe channels that the Human Library does not exist. We have grown somewhat tired of it.

Readers in Denmark are also treated to books in Aarhus on Saturday, as part of the Aarhus Festuge program and Sunday we are open to readers in Copenhagen at Kultur Valby from noon to 4 pm. Drop by if you are in town.

Today we had over 200 students attend our Human Library Reading Hall. Their questions were both brave and honest. Diversity is not the problem for the young generation. It is getting axcess to information that can help us better understand.

The Human Library gives that kind of axcess and today it was in-person. However with support from .fonden we are able to continue the conversations online using the Human Library digital bookshelf.

All students of social work in the kingdom of Denmark get a Human Library Card as part of their education.

After 5 years with our Reading Garden and asking readers to come to us. This year the Human Library is making a tour of Copenhagen. Starting this weekend and in the coming months our Pop-Up Café space will appear around the city with a handful of books on loan to the residents. The Mobile Book Café Tour was made possible with support from the local committees in the different neighbourhoods and the stops will include open square events, public libraries and culture houses. Drop in if you are in town.
