The purpose of the page is to provide a platform (a forum), for positive minded individuals who want to create positive changes, not just in their immediate activity but also in the society, and who don't stay in words but actually do it. There are many very able and competent people with the awareness of the fact that WE are creating our society and determining our future; people with the innate
genuine impulse to help others and to take causative actions to create a better society and a better tomorrow. Since they care and show initiative and get things done they are usually looked up to and respected and they become leaders of groups they are part of. Many words exist to describe such people, some positive, some ironic, some derogatory and some inaccurate. Words such as altruist, dreamer, people with public spirit, do-gooders, big-hearted, contributors, angels, benevolent, humanitarians, philanthropists…
But whatever you want to call them, the bottom line is that these are people who speak less and do more. Instead of being criticising spectators or just hoping that things will get better on their own, they roll up their sleeves, take responsibility and show initiative to create positive changes and improve things. Instead of waiting for someone to do something about it, or something to happen to change things for the better, they act and cause changes that improve conditions in our society. In this Forum, we will just call them Positive Change Leaders. The challenges that a positive change leader encounters, fall under four main categories:
1. The positive change leaders are very few (if compared with the spectators and critics). Also, some times, the positive change they attempt to create run against vested and corrupted interests which are defended by well established and powerful groups. This can be disheartening or overwhelming and give one the idea that it is impossible to make a difference.
2. Feeling alone and lack of team of like-minded people.
3. Lack of effective tools or means to create significant and visible positive change.
4. Lack of resources. Purpose of the Positive Change Forum:
To inspire, empower and unite Positive Change leaders so as to enable them to create significant positive changes around the world. How does the Positive Change Forum inspire, empower and unite Positive Change leaders? Positive change leaders are invited through word of mouth and they send a little video or simply their positive change story. This is not just an idea but something already produced/done. This story will be published on the Positive Change Forum. Other positive change leaders a) get inspired by these stories, b) get ideas and know-how, c) get to know like-minded individuals and groups who they can contact and network with to unite their forces. Who runs this page? This page is created by George Aslanis but more and more positive change leaders join in and the team is growing. What are the rules of this forum? Anyone who creates positive changes is welcome. No opinions, critisisms or complaints belong here. Only effective actions that have resulted in positive change will be published. Contact
