🚴♀️ CHARITY RIDE – May 25 🚴♀️
In collaboration with Beatriders Studio

On May 25 at 09:30, is hosting a Charity Ride in support of Natcaféen (Kirkens Korshær Nørrebro).

At our night café and shelter in Stengade, we support people experiencing homelessness in Copenhagen—many of whom are migrant individuals living in extremely vulnerable situations, often without access to the public system.

Here, we offer:
– Warm meals
– A safe place to sleep
– Showers & laundry
– Psychosocial support and connection to healthcare services

💙 Every ticket (199 DKK) goes directly towards supporting this work.💜

The session itself is a high-energy, beat-driven indoor cycling class—built around music, intensity, and shared momentum.

In addition, we are collecting essential items for our users, and Beatriders will personally deliver them and join us for an evening at Natcaféen.

This collaboration is about more than fundraising—it’s about connection, dignity, and visibility.

💜 Would you like to support the most vulnerable homeless people in Copenhagen? This fundraising event is a great chance to do just that! 💜

On May 25 at 09:30, Beatriders Studio in Copenhagen is hosting a Charity Ride where all proceeds will go directly to support our work with users of Natcaféen Stengade. These are all the same users you know from YouPeople 🥰

This will be a high-energy indoor cycling class with great music and lots of good vibes! 🤩🥳

Your participation will help people who are facing homelessness, serious physical and mental health challenges, and substance use.

On Wedneday we had the pleasure of attending "Volunteer Night 2026" hosted by International House Copenhagen.

We got to share who we are at YouPeople, what we do and how important volunteers are to us 🤩

We also got to meet a lot of new potential volunteers and we had a lovely afternoon talking to all of you 💜

Kirkens Korshær Nørrebro 💜 Another winter season is closing down, and what a winter it was! This group worked together to carry our users through the coldest winter in Copenhagen in 16 years. With temperatures falling as low as -17 degrees with the wind chill, their work has meant more than ever.

At Kirkens Korshær, we don’t reject anyone when the weather is as extreme as it was this winter. But what does it mean to put that value into practice?

From October to March, our Night Shelter at Hellig Kors Kirke accommodated 6779 (!) users. Our capacity is 40, and our average nightly occupancy was 43 users. Our record occupancy was in February, where we had 59 users staying with us!

At Natcafeen Stengade, we ran overcapacity many nights this season, accommodating people with schizophrenia, cancer, tuberculosis, in wheelchairs, and other serious health challenges. People who don’t have the resources to care for themselves.

YouPeople Morgencafé worked to create a safe space for our users to be during the cold winter days. We opened our doors 98 times this season, allowing 6311 users to escape from the cold. Our record was on a Saturday in March with 125 (!) people coming through our doors for a free meal and a sense of community.

And last but not least, our star cleaner, who worked more hours than any of us this winter, ensuring all three departments were fresh and clean every time we opened our doors.

Of the 9 emergency shelters in Copenhagen, our two night shelters housed an average of 40% of all users seeking night shelter this winter. Our record night was near the end of March, when we accommodated 50% of the users seeking night shelter in Copenhagen!

And now, it’s finally Spring in Nørrebro. The sun is shining, temperatures are rising, and the desperation is lifting, little by little.

I’m proud of my team every single day, but this winter, they’ve raised the bar higher than ever. They’ve supported each other and our users through the harshest winter conditions and all the pressure that comes from doing that day after day.

Interested in volunteering? 💜 YouPeople Morgencafé is a day shelter that supports Copenhagen’s homeless community. We are a part of Kirkens Korshær/DanChurch Social and are located at Stengade 40 in Nørrebro.

We are hoping to find volunteers who would like to volunteer consistently and for an extended period of time. Ideally, we would love to hear from people who are willing to commit to coming on the same day of the week, every week or every second week.

We have volunteer shifts at the following times:

Monday: 07:10-10:30

Wednesday: 07:10-10:30

Friday: 07:10-10:30

Saturday: 07:10-11:45

Sunday: 07:10-11:45

Yesterday was our favourite day of the year!! 🎄💜🎄💜 Last night we hosted our annual African Christmas party and it was once again a huge success! We gathered 100 people to celebrate the holiday season together with a beautiful feast of homemade dishes from several African countries!! 😍😍 It was an amazing evening with music, gifts, delicious food, and the spirit of the season 🥰🎅🏻

A huge THANK YOU to and their AMAZING team of volunteers who came together to cook, decorate, wrap presents, and create an amazing atmosphere for our users!!!! 💜💜 Thank you to all of our volunteers at YouPeople and the staff at Kirkens Korshær Nørrebro for all of your hard work last night! Thank you to for donating our beautiful Christmas tree 😍🙏🏻 Thank you to the many shops around Nørrebro who donated vegetables and spices! And thank you to all of the incredible anonymous elves who donated over 100 (!!) presents to our users!! 😍🎅🏻😍🎅🏻 You have all helped to make Christmas a little brighter for those who need it most! 💜🙏🏻💜🙏🏻 We are already looking forward to next year!! 😍😍😍
