With our support, World Food Programme is delivering daily hot school meals to 221,000 schoolchildren at 284 Karamoja schools in Uganda, sourcing the ingredients locally. During the August-September school holidays, WFP is giving learners at its supported schools a one-off take-home ration of rice, mung beans and fortified vegetable oil.

The support keeps children fed through the break and encourages them to stay in school, while cushioning households bearing the brunt of the current drought.

Denne sommer har hvide huer og festpyntede ladvogne igen skabt glæde og liv i gaderne, når landets studenter er blevet fejret på traditionel vis. Men de tusindvis af unge, der er i gang med eller netop har afsluttet en uddannelse som gartner, SOSU-assistent, smed eller salgsassistent oplever sjældent samme opmærksomhed – hverken undervejs eller når de er udlærte.

Derfor har Aarhus Business College, Jordbrugets UddannelsesCenter Århus, SOSU Østjylland og AARHUS TECH taget initiativ til Danmarks første store fejring af erhvervsskoleelever, Faglært. Dette fine initiativ bakker vi nu også op om med fondsstøtte og håber at se unge faglærte fra hele Midtjylland blandt deltagerne.

What does it take to strengthen Europe's water, marine and maritime innovation ecosystem? A strong foundation of skills, ideas, entrepreneurs and collaborative innovation.

In 2026, the Grundfos Foundation and EIT Water are proud to launch an incredible 22 pilot activities across Europe:

🎓 SKILLS BOOSTER - Six educational programmes equipping students and professionals with the entrepreneurial skills and interdisciplinary capabilities the water sector needs, from ecosystem restoration in port environments to advanced water cycle management.

💡 HACKATHON - Eight regional events where participants collaborate across disciplines and borders to turn pressing water challenges into early-stage Proofs of Concept, covering everything from AI-powered water management to circular blue economy solutions.

🌊 WAVEMAKER - Eight regional business creation competitions supporting high-potential start-ups and spin-outs to refine their business models, build investment readiness and pitch for top honours at the EIT Water launch event in Malaga this October.

With activities spanning from Portugal to Ukraine and Denmark to Croatia, these pilots are building the connections, capabilities and ventures that Europe's water future depends on.

Funded by our Community Engagement Grant, this project aims to increase youth employment, specifically by enabling 1,000 underprivileged young people (aged 18-30) to become TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training)-certified water & pump technicians in Viet Nam. The project will set up a training center in Cao Thang Technical College, a highly-regarded, government-funded vocational college in Ho Chi Minh City.
