§ 3. The chairperson’s report

Events ✨ Support ✨ Advocacy QUKUs events are primarily intended for students at KU who identify as q***r/LGBTQIA+ as well as those who are questioning their gender or sexual/romantic orientation. We’re also open to allies joining in - and we all s

hare the responsibility to make any event a safe space for ALL participants. Encouraged behavior
Introduce people to each other
Welcome newcomers
Try to solve conflicts among yourselves, but if it isn’t possible, poke a member of the board or activity group on the shoulder
When you meet someone new, introduce you with your name as well as pronouns

Expected behavior
Be respectful
Assume good intentions
Pay attention to the personal boundaries of the people you are interacting with
If someone expresses that you are making them uncomfortable, consider changing your behavior
If you don’t know someone’s pronouns, either ask, use a gender neutral pronoun or try to avoid using pronouns for that person altogether
If you accidentally misgender someone, apologize and move on

Unacceptable behavior
Don’t misgender people on purpose. duh
Harassment, bullying and discrimination, such as racist, sexist, transphobic, biphobic, ableist, acephobia behavior is totally unacceptable
We accept no kind of violence


Articles of Association for Q***r Union Københavns Universitet (QUKU)

§ 1. Name and affiliation
1.1 The name of the association is: Q***r Union Københavns Universitet (QUKU)
1.2 The association is affiliated with Københavns Universitet

§ 2. Organisation
3.1 The chairpersonship of QUKU is chosen at the general assembly
3.1.a At the general assembly the following posts are chosen:
A chairperson
A vice chairperson
An accountant
4 board members
3.1.b The chairpersonship as well as the board members commit to staying on the post for a semester, but the accountant is committed to stay for an entire academic year.
3.1.c The election can be done anonymously if one or more members want it.
3.1.d To be elected for the chairpersonship you must have been active in QUKU for at least one semester.
3.1.e 3.2 The board and chairpersonship run the association and have contact with the rest of the members of QUKU.
3.2 QUKU also has an activity group, which consists of the board as well as volunteers
3.2.a Members of the activity group are not elected and everybody who wants to be a part of it is welcome.
3.3 Any member can host an event in association with QUKU, but they’ll have to contact the board if they want to do it in QUKUs name.

§ 4. General assembly
4.1 The chairpersonship announces the general assembly at least 14 days before it’s held.
4.2 An ordinary general assembly is held within the first month at the start of each semester.
4.3 The agenda for an ordinary general assembly must include the following points:
1. Choice of moderator and minute taker
2. Presentation of the account and budget
4. Election of chairperson, vice chairperson and accountant (fall semester) (Cf. § 3)
5. Other

§ 5. The chairpersonship of QUKU
5.1 The running of QUKU is supervised by the chairpersonship (Cf. § 3).
5.2 The chairpersonship constitutes itself with a chairperson, vice chairperson and accountant.
5.3 The chairpersonship makes, if necessary, an account and a budget.
5.4 The chairpersonship creates its own rules of procedure.
5.5 The subscription right to the association belongs to the chairperson.

§ 6. Membership
6.1 Anyone who wants to support the purpose of QUKU can become a member.
6.2 The centerpieces of QUKU are our Facebook group and page.
6.2.a Our Facebookpage “QUKU - Københavns Universitet” is open for everybody who follows the Code of Conduct.
6.2.b The Facebookgroup “QUKU - Q***r Union Københavns Uni” however is only for the primary target audience of QUKU: People who identify as a LGBTQIA+ person and study at KU. These members also have to follow the Code of Conduct of QUKU.

§ 7.Contigent/funding
7.1 QUKU does not have a contingent.
7.2 QUKU is nonprofit and funding for events happens through support from funds and other associations and optional user payment.
7.3 Due to QUKU being nonprofit all proceeds will go to hosting future events and materials we can use for future events.

§ 8. Changes to the Articles of Association
Changes to the Articles of Association can happen if a majority of three out of four of the members attending the general assembly wants it.

§ 9. Extraordinary general assembly
9.1 Is announced if a majority of the board wants it
9.2 Is announced if a majority of the activity group wants it
9.3 Is announced if one out of three of the members wants it.
9.4 The announcement follows the same rules as written in §4.
9.5 The agenda has to be motivated.

§ 10. Accounts
The financial year for QUKU is an academic year consisting of two semesters.

§ 11. Dismissal of the association
11.1 Dismissal of the association needs a majority vote of three out of four of the members attending the ordinary or extraordinary general assembly.
11.2 The dismissal has to be approved afterwards during an extraordinary assembly.
11.3 If the association is dismissed, the funds of the association will be donated to an organisation benefiting the LGBTQIA+-community. The association Q***r Union Københavns Universitet was founded the 4th of September 2019.
