𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐔𝐬 - 🇩🇰🤝🏾🇬🇭

All too soon, the two-week stay of our international volunteers, 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐞, in Ghana has come to an end. It has been a meaningful journey of 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬.

In their final days, YEFL Ghana hosted an interactive storytelling session where 𝟏𝟎 𝐆𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 shared their journeys, achievements, lessons, and experiences in youth-led initiatives, volunteering, and community development.

Peter and Linnete also travelled to the 𝐔𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 to experience community realities firsthand and engage with stakeholders around 𝐘𝐄𝐅𝐋 𝐆𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬’ 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬.

They have now safely departed Ghana through 𝐓𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐤.

We sincerely appreciate 𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐔, 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐲.

These exchanges remind us that while our contexts may differ, 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐥.

Hvor passende at vi på denne International Youth Day faktisk er i Ghana, hvor studerende fra VIAs Verdensmålsambassadører er på besøg ved vores seje samarbejdsorganisationer YEFL-Ghana og Ghana Food Movement 😍

Og tak til GLOBUS-puljen for at muliggøre denne vidensudveksling mellem unge i Danmark og Ghana 🤩🤩

🌍 International Youth Day

On International Youth Day, we celebrate the creativity, leadership, and determination of young people to drive positive change in their communities and beyond.

One inspiring example is the youth partnership between MUNDU – Centre for Global Education, VIA University College, Youth Empowerment for Life (YEFL), and Ghana Food Movement (GFM). Through workshops, digital collaboration, and study visits, Danish students and young Ghanaian activists exchange ideas, and develop initiatives on climate action, sustainable food systems, mental well-being and community engagement.
Supported through the GLOBUS Fund administered by the Danish Centre for Church-Based Development (CKU) and DTA – Danish Trade Union Development Agency, the project is built on mutual learning and equal partnerships. The young participants function as facilitators and experts, while building the confidence and skills to contribute to sustainable development in their own communities.

𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲!

YEFL Ghana celebrates the power of youth exchange, volunteering, and cultural learning under the International Youth Day theme “𝐃𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐬, 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬.”

Through our exchange programme with partners including 𝐆𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐤𝐚𝐛, 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐍𝐞𝐰𝐬, young people from Ghana and Denmark are connecting across cultures, sharing experiences, learning from one another, and discovering new perspectives on youth leadership and community development.

From volunteering and working with communities to experiencing Ghanaian culture and everyday life, these exchanges remind us that while our contexts may be different, young people everywhere share common aspirations for opportunity, inclusion, peace, and a better future.

Today, we celebrate the young people who cross borders, share stories, challenge perspectives, and learn together.
