This seminar will review the local involvement in windpower development and the guidelines for local participation in windpower projects. The aim is to set the framework for a guideline that can guide windpower developments with local participation in various countries including Baltic and Nordic countries and Ukraine.

Speakers include: Jane Kruse and Gitte Davidsen, Nordisk Folkecenter, Gunnar B Olesen, INFORSE-Europe VedvarendeEnergi; Stefan Gsänger, World Wind Energy Association, Arthus Hinsch, ICLEI, Andrea Bruno, European Commission.

Today's EU State of the Union speech https://commission.europa.eu/strategy-and-policy/state-union_en sent an important message on strong climate action; but need to be followed by a roadmap for stronger climate action and reuduction of fossil fuel use in affordable ways. Ursula von der Leyen's speech mentioned the key problems of fossil fuel use with its climate impacts and increasingly vulnerable supply routes into Europe. Now the EU must go from worrds to action and set out a roadmap for phase out of fossil fuels and replace it with affordable renewable energy, energy efficiency, and also policies for sufficiency.
In the Von der Leyen's speech she also mentioned nuclear as part of clean energy, but she and much of EU is ignoring that fact that nuclear power is much more expensive than renewable energy and energy efficiency. Focus on nuclear power can derail the transition, leading us from one vulnerable and expensive form of energy to another.

In the 2026 State of the Union address, the President of the European Commission will reflect on the European Union's achievements over the past year and set out the priorities for the year ahead.

☀️😍⚡Thanks for the great event: From EU green goals to local handling on energy communities! off/online at the Nordisk Folkecenter. We had:
👉Morten Westergaard (Energyifællesskaber Danmark og ny direktør ved Samsø Energiakademi (Samsø Energy Academy)
👉 Henning Bo Madsen (INFORSE-Europe) about the European perspectives EU directives, REScoop.eu; Lise Nielson (Nordisk Energiforskning) about the Nordic connections to EU.
👉 Gunnar B Olesen (VedvarendeEnergi og INFORSE) with steps how to go forward.
👉Gitte Davidsen (Nordisk Folkecenter) about theory to practis
👉Moderator: Jane Kruse, direktør of the Nordic Foleceneter for Renewable Energy.
After presentations and workshop we had discussion on how to go forward
The event was financially supported by Europa-Nævnet.
👉 Afterwards, Judit Szoleczky presented the participatory training methods developed by Energy Literacy for Youth - ELY (games, role play, experiments etc) an Erasmus+ project across europe, and discussed its use in Denmark e.g. at Tvind, and the Nordic Folkecenter.
