So far, the weather has been 'so-so' this week 🍃🌦️🌫️. However, the weather forecast for Thursday indicates we can expect a nice, warm, sunny day. Good news, yes, but ☝🏼, this is Denmark, and the weather presents more surprises than all other events in a year , except for one. Probably.

That one event is our weekly Thursday sessions of free Danish language and cultural learning with a bit of hygge added on as a bonus right at the end.

For tomorrow, Thursday 11th June 2026, our plan for the day presents a somewhat different arrangement from what we usually have.

Since we are are not in the habit of telling long tales, here's the plan for the day :

🕓 14:45 – Arrival, coffee & tea ☕

Come in, grab a warm drink, and enjoy a cozy moment before we begin.

📍 Location: Ansgars Kirken, Vesterbro 1a, 9000

📚 15:00 – Presentation and demo for a first aid course with representatives from the Danish Resuscitation Council. The objective is to introduce and teach how to provide emergency first aid to persons experiencing cardiac arrest.

📚 15:45 – Group teaching sessions. Hopefully 🤞🏽

🤸‍♂️16:30 – Hygge & fun. With some sunshine keeping the outdoors all nice and dry ( hoping the weather forecast holds true), we'll build ourselves a campfire 🔥 and get to make 'snobrød' and marshmallows and share a cozy time together

Hi,
Here is a good offer for you, who might not have had a first aid course for a long time or maybe never.
The course will focus on resuscitation (CPR) especially in stroke situations. The course is especially for internationals and will be presented in Danish and English.
Come and be better prepared if you suddenly end up in a situation where this knowledge will come in handy.

Another week has passed, and we're looking forward to gathering once again for an afternoon of Danish learning, good conversations, and hyggelig company.

Here's what we have planned for Thursday, 4th of June:

🕓 14:45 – Arrival, coffee & tea ☕

📚 15:00 – Joint teaching 🗣️✨
This week, we'll talk about associations in Denmark and the important role they play in Danish society. From sports clubs and hobby groups to volunteer organizations, associations are a big part of community life and a great way to meet people and become involved locally.
We will also touch upon Constitution Day (Grundlovsdag), which takes place on Friday, and learn a little about its significance in Denmark.
📚 15:20 – Group teaching sessions 👩‍🏫📖
We'll divide into smaller groups to practice Danish together.
Level 1 and Level 2:Learning with new topics and language practice.

🔥 16:30 – Hygge & fun
This week we'll gather around the campfire for a hyggelig afternoon with snobrød and marshmallows. A perfect opportunity to relax, chat, and enjoy the company of old and new friends.

It's looking lovely these days with abundant sunlight, bright blue skies, flowers around every corner and that nice warmth that makes us smile 😁.

Even more delightful is the opportunity to share these warm, beautiful days with others in an atmosphere of sharing and learning.

Such nostalgia 💭.

Well well. Such an atmosphere is close. Really close. Right in the city center where Elsk Aalborg International still does what it does: running it's weekly Thursday sessions of free Danish language lessons, fun activities and community life. Yup. We have a plan for Thursday 28th May, 2026 and it's all prepared with you and life in Aalborg in mind.

Without being too dramatic and keeping you waiting any longer, here's a sneaky peak at the plan so you know what to look forward to this Thursday:

📚 15:00 – Joint teaching 🗣️✨

The topic for the day will be about Attractions in Aalborg. We have at least five attractions identified, which we plan to share with you. Of course there are many more in the city, but these five will be the start of the conversation, and then some more afterwards.

📚 15:20 – Group teaching sessions 👩‍🏫📖

We’ll divide into smaller groups to practice some Danish.

Level 1: Teaching will cover the topic of the clock and the unique perspective of telling the time the Danish way (the very 'normal' way 😹)

Level 2: Continued learning with new topics

🤸‍♂️16:30 – Hygge & fun. After spending some time indoors, we'll take a relaxing and scenic walk to Aalborgtårnet ( the Aalborg Tower) to soak in beautiful atmosphere the city has to offer.

We’ll begin together by introducing the theme of the day.

This week’s common teaching will focus on “Foreningslivet i Danmark” — association life in Denmark.
We’ll learn about concepts such as volunteering, constitutionally protected associations, membership fees, and more.

🕒 15:20 – Group sessions 👩‍🏫📖
We’ll divide into smaller groups to practice Danish and connect together.

🎨 16:30 – Hygge, Hobby & Help ✨
We’ll enjoy a cozy activity time together!
There will be knitting materials and jewelry-making supplies available, and everyone is also welcome to play games like UNO — great for practicing numbers and colors while having fun together 💛

We may be late with this announcement, but we will never forget about you on a Thursday, particularly when it's time for our free Danish language and hygge session. 1000 apologies for the short notice though.
