Hej 👋🏽

We have great news to share with you.

Some people are beginning a new academic year, others still have holidays to spare, and we have our Thursday sessions with free Danish language lessons, fun activities and the warmth of community to share for all. So don't stay home all by yourself, and certainly come join us even if it's out of pure curiosity.

Speaking of Thursday sessions, tomorrow is Thursday 3rd September and we have a well planned session ready for ex*****on. Just check the details below to know what to expect:

🕐 14:45 – Arrival, coffee & tea

Come in, grab a warm drink, and enjoy a cozy moment with the teachers right before lessons begins. 📍 Location: Ansgars Kirken, Vesterbro 1a, 9000 Aalborg

🕒 15:00 – Joint teaching

We begin our 'Life through' series where we discussion simple matters of everyday life of the Danish society. The 'Life through' series begins with a talk on the first years of life of the average Dane in Denmark: about birth and preschool, what life for babies and parents looks like in Danmark , the institutions and laws that govern and help support family life in Denmark.

🕒 15:20 – Group teaching sessions

We’ll divide into smaller groups for Danish language lessons where you get to learn and practice some Danish; a few 'easy' new words and phrases on certain selected topics to get you started on the long Danish journey. There'll be opportunity to further explain ideas or any questions from the joint teaching session as well.

🍪 16:30 – Hygge at the Aalborg Zoo

We'll move to the Aalborg Zoo to participate in the program 'Diversity Evening' organised by International House North Denmark. We recommend you come along with a drink to quench your thirst, and maybe, just maybe, there may be free hotdogs to share as well.

No entrance fee will be required to enter the zoo: it's free . Just join us and let's share a, hmmm, a warm day. ( Super important to dress for the weather. Prepare for any potential surprises the weather may throw at us)

Hej Allesammen 🇩🇰☀️

This Thursday, 27 August, we are looking forward to gathering again for another hyggelig afternoon of Danish learning, good conversations, and time together.

Here’s what we have planned for Thursday:

📍 Location: Ansgars Kirken, Vesterbro 1a, 9000 Aalborg

🕐 14:45 – Arrival, coffee & tea

Come in, grab a warm drink, and enjoy a cozy moment together before we begin.

🕒 15:00 – Joint teaching

This week’s theme is Hvordan får jeg en ven? – How do I make a friend? 🤝❤️

We’ll start together with some Danish practice around friendship, meeting new people, getting to know someone, and talking about what makes a good friend.

🕒 15:20 – Group teaching sessions

We’ll divide into smaller groups to practice Danish together.

Level 1 and Level 2: learning new words and expressions, practicing conversations, and everyday social situations.

🎲 16:30 – Kongespil & Hygge

We have planned Kongespil for this Thursday! If the weather is good we’ll head over to Kildeparken (the park in front of the church) and play together. 🌳

If the weather is not good we will stay at Ansgars Kirken, and simply take our time to talk, get to know each other, and enjoy being together.

Either way, it’s a chance to practice Danish in a relaxed and hyggelig way. 🤝

Mandag den 24. august starter vi op igen med MONDAY MORNING samlinger.
Der bliver tid til at hygge, grine, snakke (dansk), dele oplevelser, få hjælp til jobsøgning, og cykelværkstedet er åbent, hvis din cykel har brug for reparation.
Vi starter med morgenmad klokken 9.15.
Kom og vær med.

Monday, August 24th the MONDAY MORNING gatherings start up again.
It will be a time to hygge, laugh, learn Danish, share experiences, get help for your job search and bike repair.
We start with breakfast at 9.15.

Hej igen 🇩🇰,

Our second session after the summer break is coming up this Thursday, 20th August 2026 ( yup, we had the first session last week Thursday), and we welcome you to join us once again. Don't worry, there's a lot more left to learn and fun to shared.

The plan for Thursday is fresh and simple. One could even say our plan for Thursday is 'økologisk', actually 'hyggeligt' and shared freely. You'll hardly find such a combo anywhere else, which prompts us to claim that we are probably the only place where you find such a combo.

So without much suspense and guessing what to expect, here's the plan for Thursday:

🕒 15:00 – Joint teaching

This focus for the day is on learning Danish. There'll be lots of tips on learning and finding resources for learning the Danish language to give you a great start and a strong foundation in the language study.

🕒 15:20 – Group teaching sessions

We’ll divide into smaller groups to get right into practicing what has been learnt; a few 'easy' new words and phrases to get you started on the long Danish journey.

Level 1 and Level 2: learning with new topics and language practice.

🍪 16:30 – Hygge & baking

Now here's the part the weather 🌨️ ☀️ 🌬️ ☁️ comes in.

If the weather is all nice and kind to us, we're going to have a great , big campfire 🔥 to set the scene while we share experiences, sing and roast some snobrød over the flame.

But, if the weather says, 'no way', we will pull out our 'yes way' response to bad weather: we'll still have a fire anyways ( um, indoor heat) to roast hot buns and have indoors games to engage ourselves.

So, just come prepared for whatever the weather can throw at us.

We’re back! After the summer holidays, we’re looking forward to gathering once again for an afternoon of Danish learning this thursday, 13 of August, with good conversations, and hyggelig company.

We’ll start together with some Danish practice around the theme of summer, holidays, and the weather.

We’ll divide into smaller groups to practice Danish together.

Level 1 and Level 2: learning with new topics and language practice.

🍪 16:30 – Hygge & baking
After the teaching sessions, we’ll continue with a Danish tradition: baking cookies together!
A cozy way to get back into our routine, enjoy some teamwork, and have a little fun together. 🍪
